Cotten's Downtown

Enjoyed the food immensely. The problem comes down to service. After attempting to call over 50 times to place an order to be picked up after I get off work, I decided to just go in and do it. That took well over half an hour for two burgers, some fries, and some small onion rings.

Then last night I wanted to have it for dinner. Called over 40 times to attempt to place an order. Got busy signals, voicemails, and someone who just picked up the phone and hung it back up. Needless to say, didn’t eat there.

Today, I tried calling again because I suppose I don’t learn. Another 40 tries with just a busy signal. I’m sorry, but I’ve been inside. It’s not so busy that a person calls 40 times and gets a busy signal every time because it’s that busy. It just ain’t. You have a phone, answer it or make sure it works. The last two times I’ve eaten there it took a half hour to a full hour nearly to get two burgers. That’s ridiculous.

Nice, old school diner. Food was phenomenal. Atmosphere really takes you back, especially with the memorabilia on the wall and what appears to be original bar stools at the counter. Only advice for the owners is having cleaner restrooms and tables to complete the experience I'm sure they want for their customers. If you are looking for incredibly fast, sub par food, this is not the place for you. Also, a nice perk from the outside is the mural.

We absolutely love Cottens Downtown! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming and the food is ALWAYS on point!
The owner has gone out of her way time and time again to create us anything that our stomachs desire.

Burger was delicious! Went in before lunch and after breakfast. Breakfast looked really good according to web menu. I got a hamburger with cheese, lettuce, tomatos, mustard onions and a side of onion rings. 😋 Yummy to all.

I love cottons has good food but the worker Mrs.Trish has a bad attitude 😒 and it shows makes me not even want to eat there anymore. They don’t even greet people when they walk in door or anything, people where just walking in looking clueless because they didn’t know what to do or where to order and they don’t even say anything to the customers. She had an attitude because one customer wanted his food to go instead of dine in and she made this nasty look on her face then turned in a circle and bagged his food up that’s totally not the right way to handle things, she should have just said okay sir I can do that for you sorry and bagged his food up instead of catch and attitude and say nothing to him. What a great way to give people a first time experience at that location.

I absolutely love this place. I used to babysit Kate when she was young. My very first job was at Cottens working for her dad when I was 14. The burgers are divine and the service was second to none.

Wish I could have tried the breakfast. I'm sure it's delicious, but the hours on the website are wrong. Update that so people aren't wasting time. 🙄

The food here is pretty great. Burgers are awesome, onion rings are fantastic, service usually leaves a little to be desired (slow service and orders frequently include errors), especially if there are some Waitr orders called in while you wait, they seem to take priority over patrons who are there. Staff is always nice though, gotta give them that! 5 Star food, 3 Star Service. ( Don’t forget breakfast too, their breakfast is delicious! )

waited an hour and 20 minutes after ordering to receive our food and there was only 2 of us and they were not busy AT ALL. After ordering, the waitress did not stop by once to refill drinks or anything. Our order was completely wrong just like the couple who sat next to us. They got up and left, i wish we would have as well. The waitress yelled multiple times. Definitely won’t be back and don’t waste your time going either. I have no idea how this place is rated 5 stars but they lied.

Good burger. Surprisingly good. Good seasoning and taste from a frozen patty.
Unskilled staff. The kid on the griddle kept smashing the patties - making that cool hissing sound as they cook. Unfortunately, that juice you are squeezing out is where all the flavor is!!! It made me cringe every time. Or watching him cut into the patty with the side of the spatula - No! The place was almost empty but he couldn't keep up. He and the waitress both complained about the rush... Also, there wasn't an adult employee to be seen. The two working were college aged at best, and it showed in their demeanor and conversations.
It really was a good burger. But the lack of a knowledgeable presence took away a lot from this diner. I can only imagine how good it could be with the proper management and training.
