Heard about it from a friend and stopped by for lunch on a Tuesday. First, the atmosphere is really cool. From the art on the wall to the cool tables it just makes the time waiting for your food fly by. I got the special, Taco Tuesday Trio, and it was delicious. Shrimp, catfish, and chicken just the way I like them. Heavy on the crunchy cabbage and a spicy kick with the sauce. I wish I had taken a picture but I'll be back next Tuesday to do so. I did snap a pic of their menu to share. Highly recommend. They do breakfast and lunch and I heard that their breakfast is even better. If you're looking for a casual spot to have a quality lunch with friends then check it out!

This restaurant is wonderful. My husband and I come here regularly and the staff always remembers our orders and the alterations to make the meal healthy for my diabetic husband's diet. The food is always delicious and they have food for alternative diets on the menu as well.
They even helped him create a whole new meal when he was first diagnosed and was dejected that he could not eat at our favorite spot and stay diligent with his sugar restrictions. They display and sell local art and support all of the local artists, visual, musical, poetic and other. Check them out.

This was a nice breakfast spot! Very homey and as the name implies it’s a “simple cafe”. The staff was pleasant. You can see them cooking which I like. Pancakes were a highlight, as well as the grits, French toast and fresh sausage! I got a vanilla latte. Coffee wasn’t the greatest you’ve ever had but also not the worst. They have a cool system where you can choose your own mug if you order plain coffee and free refills. Prices are great and quantity of food is decent... My husband eats a lot and he ordered the #5 and added an extra pancake and it was the perfect amount. I would recommend this establishment.

We have been visiting for years and this place has never disappointed. The owners are super sweet and personable people, and the staff in general are good people. It's such a happy atmosphere with awesome custom collage tables and local artists showcased on the walls. I've never had something I didn't like here, but my go-to is the bagel sandwich. Perfect way to start the day.

I came to visit a family member over the weekend. She suggested I give this place a try Sunday Morning and OMG. THIS PLACE IS MAGICAL. I loved the simplicity of the whole experience. I met Shawn who was very attentive to me and the other patrons. He seems to really love and care for the foodand his customers.. He even helped me grab a table! He let me try the Vietnamese Coffee OMG YES SO YUMMY. I had the Blueberry Quinoa. It was superb beyond measure. He said the oats were homemade. I could taste that! My daughter had French toast with bacon. She absolutely loved it! We will be back next month !!!! This will be my go to breakfast place when visiting Baton Rouge❤❤.

Local, neighborly vibe. Draws customers from MidCity and beyond. Comforting breakfast favorites and more, prepared expertly. Check out the menu beyond the usual breakfast things, but don't be so quick to overlook their strengths. Strongly recommend the grits, an absolute triumph.

First the community attitude was beautiful. The owners are great. Absolutely love all the community artwork that is available for purchase. The wait wasn't to bad. But if you procrastinate you might be in line awhile. This place is what all natives crave. We drive 45 minutes to be able to enjoy.

The grits were great and that’s about it. Food was mediocre at best. Staff was very friendly and works hard.

when I tell you the best grits in the world, I mean it I said what I said and I don't even like grits hahaha!!! If they made an award for grits this man will be so far ahead of the pack, the goat would be an insult they are even better than that lol by the way did I say how good the grits were??? rarely do I write reviews, specially for something I don't even like to eat but I think this speaks volumes with this man's grits lol I'm done 😁
