City Roots Coffee Bar

You would say that coffee is coffee, however, it takes creativity and care to distinguish yourself from from good to great. City Roots was a great coffee spot. Good flavor and variety through creative energy with a cared for space to relax in. Worth the stop if your in the area.

City roots would be a great coffee shop before Corona. With Corona, it's a bit worse. That's okay though. Their biscuits were different last I went, but the ones I had two months ago were more than killer - they serially killed me. Bring those back please? Also the Match dream thing they have is unreal. I've only had Matcha of that quality from older, Asian grandparents. Quality

Great atmosphere and amazing coffee. Staff are always friendly and helpful! I like studying here or hanging out with a friend! It can get louder here than other study spots but it's a great coffee shop.

Got the shakerato and the sweetness was overkill. Shakeratos are my favorite drink and the execution of it here upset me. I thought it was weird they used like 3 different types of sweeteners or something. Also there was espresso grinds in my drink…Honestly I took a few sips and threw it away. My friend got the vanilla nitro cold brew and it tasted like milk water with coffee. I had high expectations for this place from the reviews and what i heard.

Friendly staff, amazing coffee, great pastries and food. They roast the beans in house which is a must in my eyes for a gourmet coffee shop. I recommend any of the nitro cold brews. You're gonna want 2 🤯😅

City Roots is an ideal Coffee Bar. Hours currently are 7-9 (call or look at their site for more up to date info obviously) the coffee is roasted in house, and they also have some food and alcohol options. Atmosphere tho is TOP NOTCH. Many different types of seating as well as just super clean and modern aesthetic. This is my go to spot as a Baton Rouge garden district native/resident.

Excellent coffee, lots of outdoor seating with a fan to keep things cool. The barista was very helpful. Recommended.

Went here based on the great reviews. We got the cortado, cappuccino, and shakerito. The cortado and cappuccino were both slightly bitter tasting, which is not what I would expect from such a highly rated coffee shop. The shakerito was very sweet (3 kinds of sugar). It was hard to taste the coffee with all the sweetness. Would not visit again.

Never a customer. Always a guest. Excellent service. Wonderful beverages. Amazing ambience.

Initial rating 3/5: Really cool interior and friendly barista. Would be a great workspace. However, I got a hot latte and couldn’t get past the bitter and astringent aftertaste.
