One of the worst coffee shops I have been to, my drink was not mixed properly so it was gritty and it was dingy inside with poor lighting. I would recommend going to Purdys Coffee in Richmond KY next to Meeples because they have a array of drinks and foods and is a perfect example of what coffee shop should be.

Good coffee, good coffeeshop foods (including sandwiches), very nice environment. Dim, comfortable, thoughtful arrangement of seating and decor.

Sadly, this place is no longer open in the evenings, so I rarely go here anymore.

The hot chocolate was very bland and was luke warm. Cashier didn't seem very kind either. Just didn't like this place over all.

Great quality! I love their desserts and drinks. A little expensive, but no more than Starbucks or Panera. Good coffee shop, definitely worth the stop!

Attempted to have lunch here because they usually have gluten free bread. They did not today. Asked if I could get a salad with chicken. Nope, don't have enough chicken either. So take your chances; don't go out of your way like I did today. Sometimes it's good. Today was a huge disappointment.

My bad experiences here have been enough to lead me to make the hike to other businesses in Berea.
I will say, there is one young woman who I have always witnessed providing friendly and professional customer service here, but when I have visited when she has not been working, the service has been overwhelmingly poor.
I am new to Berea and very picky about my coffee, so I was excited to find a quaint shop offering decent coffee in proximity to campus. It saddens me to report that the level of unprofessionalism I witnessed first hand from most employees is enough to leave a sour taste in your mouth.
On multiple ocassions I have witnessed employees making degrading or otherwise unhelpful and negative comments to paying customers. Once around the turn of the fall season I asked (the extremely pleasant barista) at the counter if they had pumpkin flavoring. In turn, she asked her coworker who then made the derogatory and matter of fact comment to me that it was too early for that. After I responded in jest that it was “never too early” (it was the day before fall, after all), he retorted that people like me come in (for that) “way too prematurely.”
While I agree this is not outwardly offensive, it was not said in jest or comically, and I found it rather unprofessional to criticize a paying and tipping customer in such a manner.
Nevertheless, I brushed it off as that coffee shop elitism one sometimes experiences, and, when paired with the pleasant experience of the barista which I considered a fair trade-off, I continued going.
In short, over the course of the next few visits I witnessed and experienced more unprofessional behavior. Customers asking for more sugar were told “There’s sugar already in it. You want more?” Elderly customers asking if they could place an order, use the facilities, and then return to pay were dismissed. I had a brief uncomfortable exchange with someone, I believe to be the owner although I am not entirely sure, who was (possibly) jovially critizing another customer, but I found it rather awkward and something I didn’t want to engage in.
I have heard stories far worse than these, but I can only attest to my experiences; I will say, however, when paired with the recent harassment carried out on the social media page of the business, I find it hard to doubt these experiences you are reading about now.

To make a long story short, it is simply coffee.
There are other businesses which offer coffee and my loyalty to a flavor is not worth supporting unprofessional behavior I would not excuse from any other business nor would anyone excuse from me in mine.

I prefer an authentic coffee as opposed to the sweetened, watered down Starbucks variety. I'm glad to report that BC&T can deliver. I asked for a macchiato and the barista asked if I want a "Starbucks macchiato or a 'real macchiato'". I'm glad that BC&T has not abandoned the authentic taste and blend for the more popular chain brew styles. Having the option is fantastic. The atmosphere is great. Plenty of comfy seating options and dim lighting and authentic ambiance.

Over priced and terrible tasting coffee and food. Highly recommend native bagel or noodle nirvana instead. Owner manages his cafe poorly and treats his workers terribly, which causes terrible service.

I have always loved this little coffee shop it would be a shame if they were not there. We get ground coffee or wholebean... however you want it. THe owner - whom I would call a local - is amazing. Always with a smile. Great experience.

Do NOT spend money here. The owner Verbally and Sexually assaults student customers. Also, The coffe is overpriced and the desserts are store bought. They recently deleted their BC&T Facebook page because of bad reviews. Please do not support this business.
