Bannas foster crepe and mocha frappe. Life's short, dessert first.
Great service, good food and drink all at a reasonable price. You gotta try this place!

A great funky coffee shop, a hub for local events, a place to meet up, a book share area, local artist profiled pieces around, really good. The only negative is its own popularity. Not enough staff for the number of orders, a pretty extensive menu adds to the wait and staff issues. However if you have time, plan to sit and enjoy all that makes this place great then it is a serious five star shop.

Lovely coffee shop featuring lots of cool local art, soaps, crystals and even plants for sale! We stopped by for caffeine and WiFi, but I ended up looking at all the goodies and shopping instead of working.

Root offers a variety of comfy seating options, a good menu with something for everyone, great prices, a cool atmosphere in a historic building, and very well-made espresso.

Oh man do I love root. I use to hang out at root back in college before they moved locations. Had to stop in when I came back to Kansas. New location is so cute! Coffee and crepes were delicious as always!

One of my favorite places to go! Friendly owners and staff, and they support local artists and businesses!

I used to enjoy coming here. Really liked their crepes and signature drinks. But as other reviewers have mentioned, their ordering and pickup process is not the best. The last time I visited Root I used their online ordering system to place my order. It was a Saturday morning and they were busy as expected. My friend and I waited over 30 minutes and never heard our order called. When we went to the counter to ask they didn't show our orders in the que and it was determined that someone else took ours. We then had to wait another 15 minutes for them to make ours. They didn't charge us again, but it was frustrating having to wait that long. They should put names on cups when taking the order like other coffee shops do to cut out the confusion. I haven't been back since this incident and not sure if I ever will.

. Wasn't very busy. In fact, I was the only one in line but yet still had to wait 5 minutes for anybody to approach the counter and then when asked how much the pricing was, they really couldn't tell me until I placed an order. As coffee shops go. I was unimpressed with their art. And like I said, there were three coffee servers but no one had the ability to approach the cashier in a timely manner. They were too busy talking amongst themselves to notice that I was even in the line.. so walked out with placing an order

☕Best coffee in town. ☕Cozy feel. ☕Tons of seating. ☕Great wi-fi speed. ☕And you can't beat that student discount. 😎

Will come back next time I'm in town.

Great place to stop in and get a bite, or hunker down and get some work done! It is a beautifully restored and spacious space in the heart of downtown Pitt.

We wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to the owners and baristas at Root Coffeehouse in Pittsburg, KS! We hosted a wedding shower for our son and daughter-in-law at their space, and the service was superb. We had a perfect space carved out just for our event, and the bride and groom were comfortable and able to enjoy their family and friends. Root created two signature drinks for our guests that were the bride and groom’s favorites. We also had wonderful food as well from there and another local establishment, Toast. We encourage anyone who is thinking of doing a get together like this to consider Root. It was great!
