The Mila latte was delicious - really enjoyed their espresso blend. Good customer service as well!

I would give it 5 stars on food if there were more gluten-free options, especially in the bakery portion. But for non-gluten sensitive people, their baked goods are amazing!! Cinnamon rolls were my favorite when I could eat them. A big thank you to the staff for sharing that even the gluten-free monster cookies are cross-contaminated. All around, great coffee shop.

What a great bakery! One of my favorites. Amazing selection of baked goods, delicious coffee, and well decorated interior.

Interior dining is off limits currently but quite a few outdoor tables were in place. The staff were very friendly.

I’m in town for a conference and have come here several days in a row for breakfast and lunch. Coffee is some of the best in the city as I’ve been to Des Moines many times and have probably tried them all. Lots of available seating and in a very easy, and central, location.

Nice selection of baked goods to pair with a morning cup of espresso. They also do lunch sandwiches starting at 11 AM. There plain croissant was solid and will hit the spot if you enjoy a good croissant. I had a cappuccino and that was good too. Prices are good too. It can get busy but the line moves well and there is large amount of seating with WiFi too. And the Pseudo Cheese Steak sandwich is👌.

Scenic Route is a Des Moines classic. I generally stop in for a coffee as a little morning treat (their Cuban is incredible, along with their peach pinwheels). But don't forget about their lunch menu. They got some great food with clever names (like the Danny Devito!) and it's a perfect portion to keep you going through the afternoon.

A trendy little bakery in downtown Des Moines. I had the ham & cheese croissant while my daughter had their cinnamon roll. Both were very good. The have a nice outdoor seating area perfect to use on a nice summer day.

It’s a good coffee shop. Coffee is pretty good, but the location and large windows really make the place. The interior is really bright and the high ceiling gives the place an open feel. The place could use more outlets at the tables.

Employees just vape in the hallway outside of the bakery that connects to the apartment building. Vape in the restrooms that are shared by popcorn factory, etc. They sit in the hall for their breaks and either talk loudly on the phone, cry (someone is crying every other day) or arguing with someone/complaining about the bakery/life. Employees in the bakery aren’t personable or friendly. No one seems to enjoy working there. Great coffee, good treats- always busy, which is good. I just wish the employees weren’t so… depressed and would stop vaping everywhere. Don’t really care to see people “blowing clouds” or walking through their vapes as I’m going to the restroom or getting on the elevator to access my apartment. One of the employees lives in the building and is incredibly obnoxious. Has tons of friends in and out who mistreat property and ride electric scooters throughout the building. Always loud. Then you see them making your coffee and it just leaves a bad taste. I think the place is nice in the fact they give employee major holidays off, sundays, and multiple days around new years. I also wish my drink order was the same price everyday. It changes depending on who is at the counter. I ask for the same thing every single time, and say it the same way- but the price can be a dollar more or less depending on who rings it in. Make rules for hallways that is a shared space and enforce it. I don’t want to see people laying on the floor on break eating food, vaping and crying on the phone. I live here- this is my home.
