Probably the worst coffee shop out of all of them in Decorah. The owner is really rude aswell. Recommend only if you like being chased right back out.

Our first visit to Java John's, Labor Day weekend. Nice setting inside, very reasonable pricing. Cinnamon roll, milk, bottled water, Norwegian waffle plus three bacon strips. $15.00 or so. Bottle of water was more expensive than the milk ($1).
Order at the counter, pay and take your number tent and choose a table. [9/22]

I'm not a fan of pre made coffee in a coffee house dying in an air pot, that being said... you ran out? 8 pots and no coffee? On a good note the coffee I had was nicely done but my friend had to wait. I also miss the comforting sofas, chairs and books. The trinkets were a distraction

Fast service and they even sell muffin tops. Great coffee. Beautiful artwork on the walls

I had the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. It was one of the best I’ve ever had chuck-full of fresh apples, grapes, loads of meat and great sauce. Also had an absolutely perfect bowl of rommegrot that was delightful. Will be a regular stop from now on.

I went here on a day where it was snowing hard, so I believe I may have been the only customer at the time. I enjoyed the coffee, and the pecan roll was delicious. I liked that they had a section of couches and a selection of games that I imagine would be fun if I was there with someone else or a small group.

Good coffee. Regular coffee house foods, they were good.

The waffle breakfast and coffee were really good.

I only go on Sundays when all the other coffee shops are closed. They have signs up limiting the use of computers if you bring one with you, be prepared to only spend 45 minutes there. And no computer conferencing allowed. In other words, get your stuff and leave. I dont think they want too many customers. And when Starbucks opens this fall that is where I will be. I like shopping local but not if they are going to be rude about taking my money.

A quaint little shop in the heart of an old town, this coffee shop keeps the artisan spirit a live and proves to be a great stop for both local and tourist.

When I stopped in, I was immediately greeted by a friendly staff. The atmosphere is positive and very inviting.

I cannot speak to the coffee. I only had the apple cider, but that was tasty enough to me.

A great stop for anyone looking for a place to get a warm drink and some work done.
