Love this theater. Amazing seats and it's not as pricey as I thought it would be but we did go to the matinee. You can also buy adult beverages.

Their seats recline better than the competition and have tables! I like this theater the most in Ames. Friendly staff. Great variety of kids and adult beverages. Extremely clean, and updated decor. Prices are reasonable. Please keep supporting Ames patrons.

Small 5 screen theater. Very clean only took away 1 star as you should never expect warm popcorn.

Once a year my grandsons come to Iowa from Colorado and Arizona to stay with us (their grandparents) and we have an itinerary of lots of places to go and things to do but one of the most anticipated things do is to go to the North Grand Cinema for a movie, and we have been doing this for many years and tomorrow once again everyone is back in Iowa and excited about going to the North Grand Cinema movie tomorrow.

Great, comfortable place to see a film. Extra points because they keep the temperature cozy and don't try to freeze you out like many theaters do.

Love this place. Staff were friendly. Popcorn and drinks were great. Love the comfortable seating. We had two adults and five grandchildren. There was plenty of room to walk down isle so I could take care of kids during movie. Everyone had a good experience.

I normally wouldn’t post anything, but I had to for this one. My husband and I were very excited to see a movie at this new theater, for our one year anniversary. Upon arriving (whole area is empty mind you), The employee at the register looked at me and said I would need to wear a mask since that is their policy. My husband was wearing one, and I explained that I could not since I had asthma (underlying medical condition). She said OK. Then a minute later as I was trying to order coffee, she said she needed to go check in the back to see if it was decaf or regular. I thought that was kind of odd. Another minute later, the manager comes storming out yelling at us saying I have to wear a mask. I again tried to explain that I could not, he kept yelling and saying that I was refusing and that we could leave. I was trying to calmly talk to him, but he would not listen and kept on yelling. I asked if they had a mask we could buy (to wear for the 50 feet to our theater room), he said he did and he kept on yelling saying I wasn’t putting my mask on fast enough, when in fact we were just trying to buy it so I could put the mask on. He then kept yelling at my husband saying his mask was not on properly. We finally walk away and sit in our theater room waiting for our movie. The whole evening felt kind of ruined after all that, but the movie was really good (Tenet, you should see it!). No one should be treated or yelled at in that way. It could’ve been so much different, if the manager politely explained that there was a mask I could purchase to wear until we got to our theater room. Be a kind human first please. And get your emotions in check before you talk to a customer.

They were so great during the pandemic! They let us rent out our own theater and gave us a hand written thank you card at the end. Go see a movie there! Very comfortable recliner chairs. Also they have a bar in the loby.

Locally owned and operated is always a plus! Great drink selections and the seats are super comfy. The staff is always friendly and the facilities are always clean. Highly recommend!

Popcorn was amazing, seating was very comfortable, and the staff was professional and nice. Unfortunately, the very first movie we saw at the theatre had problems with the projection shaking on the screen. We waited about 10 minutes but decided to just get a refund as it was still not fixed. Nothing to make me stay away from the theater in the future, but still an unfortunate experience for our first time going to the theater.
