Elder+Oat is a wonderful place! So cozy and friendly; the staff is great and take care of in every order. Let’s talk about the food! The coffee is great (my favorite is the chocolate mocha), they use the best ingredients and everything tastes wonderful! If you haven’t been here, you must try it; you will not be disappointed!!!

A great neighborhood gem, this coffee bar is worth the drive if you are not local and if you are, lucky you, please make it your part of your coffee routine!

The ambiance is spacious, and comfortable. The staff is friendly and makes you feel as though you are sitting at home with friends. A perfect spot for study groups, connecting with friends or entertaining the littles (they even have board games in the back, mom's rejoice)!

The baked goods are Michelin star worthy. I highly recommend the artisanal focaccia slices which can be enjoyed with either a savory or a sweet spread (try the blistered tomato on garlic focaccia, you won't regret it). Paired with a sweet treat, such as a keto friendly brownie, you can definitely make this a breakfast or lunch stop!

Round out your order with one of their incredible coffee drinks. Nitro coffee is brewed here for all of you serious coffee lovers out there. Hot or iced, with a splash of oat milk and you will not be disappointed.

Looking forward to the next visit to Elder + Oat!

Elder & oat is a gem in downtown Dundee. To start, they have the friendliest owners, baristas and bakers. You’ll be greeted with the warmest welcome by the happiest people. Their coffee is excellent and this is a cozy local coffee shop where you want to stay and hang out for a bit. They have beautiful specialty coffee creations that you can take to go or stay to appreciate their coffee art in an E&O mug. And if you are looking for really good coffee and espresso you won’t be disappointed. My husband loves their dopio board! Their baked goods are all delicious but their focaccia is really special and not something you find made fresh anywhere else!

We had occasion to stop in today at Elder & Oat's 'soft opening', so happy we did! We're very excited to have a local place to get a delicious and socially conscious latte (with elder syrup and oat milk!?) and naturally leavened focaccia bread. The vegan old-fashioned donut was awesomely soft on the inside and a tad crunchy on the outside (ie.perfection!). The hot-cocoa was 12 year old-approved, and the spread we were given (the house-made pesto) was amazingly delicious and nut free! (Just ask them about their ingredients, so beautifully different!). In addition, the atmosphere is welcoming and oh so comfy. We can't wait to see and taste everything they come up with. Well done, Elder & Oat!

Coffee was excellent as was the atmosphere. Pastries flavorful, but heavy. Great gluten free options, where you might expect heaviness, but standard fare not light enough.

They were out of the egg biscuit breakfast sandwich so i tried the foccacia + turkey. The food and drinks taste like they're trying too hard. I like the atmosphere even though the place tries to look like a coffee shop in a gentrified neighborhood

First of all, I absolutely love the ambiance and everyone’s smiling faces. The Elder Oat and even House blend coffees truly hit the spot and were delicious. I would have to say I tried all the donuts that were available and all were quite satisfying, but the Honey one was a personal favorite. Now on to the Focaccia, the bread it’s self was the right amount of dense, however I would work on the salt content as the big chunks of salt would take away from the actual delicious flavor of the bread. Add on the pesto spread, hands down you can eat this on it’s own, just utter perfection with the right taste and consistency.

I’d like to say as I know you’re just starting off so a small suggestion, is letting the customer’s know of the size options of bread and coffee. Outside of that I would highly recommend this cute locally owned gem.

The vegan chocolate donut was yummy. I would love if there were some more vegan options on the menu. :)

The people working are always in a good mood 😁 I always order a simple cup of coffee with a little cream ( House Blend ) with an apple cider donut. I have never been disappointed . The coffee comes with a second cup, nice touch !
