The Courier Cafe

First time at this restaurant and it was amazing the food was delicious and the staff is very friendly we will come back soon and I highly recommend it.

I have a lot of fond memories of the Courier from my decade and a half in Urbana, but returning to it for the first time in 8 years this past weekend was somewhat of a let down from my memories.

Service was very slow, kitchen was slower, and it was a bit particularly busy breakfast time. The food was okay, but the menu was smaller and more pricey than I recalled, especially for breakfast. The atmosphere is still great and the coffee was good, and it's not the restaurants fault that existing in 2023 is harder than it was in 2014, but as a point of comparison to the last, it was a disappointing result.

What a hidden gem in the CU community! All-Day Breakfast is amazing and they have great lunch/dinner specials! Please visit when you're in the area--you won't regret it!

The reuben was DELICIOUS and the Bennett burger was highly recommended. The Dagwood had good flavor, but the sourdough bread was stale and crumbly 😒
Our waitress was honest, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu 😊

The food selections and tastes, service, and atmosphere were all amazing! Really enjoyed this stop! Will be back again the next time we're in Urbana

Came here on a weekend for brunch. Good foods, nice service, and decent portions. Definitely try their buttermilk pancakes so fluffy and soft.

Ribeye sandwich was cooked just right! Tender, no knife needed. Reubens, lasagna, and Dogwood were also tasty!
