Skydive Chicago

I went through Skydive Chicago's AFP program to learn how to skydive. It is a great place where you can go to either do a tandem skydive or learn how to skydive on your own. The program doesn't take much time and you know what sort of commitment you are getting into right at start.

All the instructors worked with me in a personalized way and helped me get over the fear I had while doing such an intense sport. On my first non-tandem jump, the instructor took extra time to make sure everything was setup as best as possible before we left the plane so my first solo landing was stress-free.

The community is also great, with many nights around campfires and a monthly cookout for everyone to socialize at. And during the day there are people who specifically work with newer jumpers so you don't feel left behind or overwhelmed.

Skydiving isn't just for young athletes; it for everyone of almost any age 18-80+. I highly recommend going there for a tandem, or even just a visit!

Best Birthday Ever! I treated myself to my first jump for my birthday on the 3rd and it was amazing. The facility was well kept, everything was super easy and organized and my instructor Ginger was great! Any nerves I felt before I got there were gone once her infectious energy hit me. She was knowledgeable, nice and made the entire experience better than I could imagine. The jump itself was better than expected and Ginger made it even better with how easy she made it to enjoy with lots of spins! I will definitely be coming back here for more jumps and recommending this place to all my friends looking to jump.

My friends and I had a great experience at Skydive Chicago! All the instructors were so kind and funny which made the experience so much better! Steve V was a great instuctor to have and made me feel much calmer before the jump! While on a weather delay, we were able to get to know all the instructors and they're all great people! I definitely recommend!

Awesome experience! 10/10!! They helped you with everything, and my instructor Baxter was amazing and taught me everything I needed to know to have a safe and fun jump. Along with Baxter, Chad the professional videographer was so interactive and fun too plus the pictures were so cool. My experience here was beyond what i dreamt of. The jump was so crazy the first few moments and then after I took in the view from the sky. After the food was really good too. Highly recommend and can’t wait for my next jump!!!

The place is pretty clean, the planes are nice, the staff is wonderful, the wait was short and everything was well-organized.

However, the goggles they provide suck. I’ve been skydiving before without an issue, but today, I spent the whole free fall concerned my contact was going to pop out from all the wind coming in from the right side.

I’m not sure if trying them on prior to already being in the air would have even helped, but it definitely downgraded my experience. I will say that my tandem person made up for it by doing some cool things after the free fall that I didn’t experience the first time I went skydiving (elsewhere, years ago).

My daughter also went and had a bad experience with her goggles. It was her first jump and I was hoping she would feel so “in the moment” as I did during my first jump, but the goggles being dug into her face prevented that. It was so bad that the videographer had to point it out to her tandem person, and all her photos are of her squinting in pain, or having her tandem person’s hands on her goggles trying to fix them. It was so bad, she still had red marks under her eyes when she went to work five hours later.

We both want to go skydiving again, and they offered a discount if we sign up again in a week. But I would rather pay a little more for a chance we’ll get better goggles elsewhere.

1st timer skydiving and this guys are 100% recommended. Felt fully informed and comfortable from the time I arrived and to the time I left. I was partnered with Baxter and another gentleman who filmed. Both were awesome as hell. Definitely will only come to these guys when skydiving, even though I live in a different state, worth every dollar.

Yesterday I had my very first skydive jump! My instructor was Ginger and she was FANTASTIC! I was so scared going into this experience but she was kind, enthusiastic, thorough with her instructions, and totally put my mind at ease. Ron was the videographer and he was awesome as well! He really captured the day perfectly and was a blast to jump with. Thank you everyone at skydive Chicago who made yesterday’s experience so amazing!!!!

Breathtaking experience!!! Skydive Chicago has an excellent team, starting from the beginning (registration) and till the end. Full support, very quick response and very warm welcome.
Special gratitude to Tim (Pro Skydiver and my Tandem partner) gave me a real paragliding extreme after we released the parachute.
Pro tip: Check weather before going, must be sunny and no wind. Otherwise you will have to wait.

Amazing place for fun jumping! Everyone is safe and welcoming. Arrived for my first event, and everything from payment to manifest to renting gear, LO and packing is smooth. The campground is peaceful and great for the price. Food is awesome!
