Great food 👌! Perfect amount of food! Had already started when I thought to take the pictures.

During an adventure weekend to Starved Rock and Matthiessen, we stopped here for brunch. The venue is cute and makes you feel at home. Staff is friendly and courteous. They have a menu behind the counter from which you order. I'm guessing due to COVID, staff resources must be hurting since we were served on single-use plates with plastic silverware and cups. My veggie scrambler wasn't anything spectacular. It did the job of filling me up before a day of hiking.

We didn't try the desserts, but they visually looked tasty. When we went, they were selling some lovely local soy candles (bought two).

Given the limited options for non-chain brunch places, I'd go back, but with less expectations.

EXCELLENT food. Me and my wife stopped in and sat outside while we ate. They have a great selection of coffee, which is a must for both of us any day of the week. I recommend the grilled ham and Swiss on the home made herb and cheese bread. I devoured mine in 6 minutes flat. Along with the great food, which is very reasonably priced, they have very friendly staff. We will be coming back again in the near future. (Would give more stars if I could)

First time here. Adorable restaurant, good food, good prices and yummiest pastries. The staff was awesome. Looming forward to going back after my next hike. Oh good vegetarians and meat eaters. Try the fried avocado fries Loved them!!!

Wonderful place! My daughter and I stop there for breakfast to wait for a trade post to open across the street. We really liked it . . . actually loved it. The place is very clean, peaceful and beautiful. Very nice people (way more beautiful than the place) and the service is excellent: Order at the counter, chose a table (indoors or outdoors) and they will bring your food extraordinary fast. Sizes of the dishes are perfect, no overwhelmingly big (as many places where a lot of food is wasted). Taste? Simply wonderful. I cannot say that it is like my Grand Mom’s kitchen because I am from Mexico :-) But it feels like home. We chose outdoors and they were always sure that we have everything we want and need.
Yes. Next time we visit Utica or Starved Rock, Bakery & Café Nonies will be a mandatory stop.

Delicious baked goods; super friendly staff. This is a fantastic place to stop for breakfast or lunch while checking out Starved Rock State Park. If you are staying at one of the hotels in the area, I HIGHLY recommend you step out to give this local business a try. We had the breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, and gigantic cinnamon rolls. Then we had to go back the next day for some lunch!
