Really great spot to stop in for a quick bite or some breakfast. It did take me a moment to figure out the procedure for order and getting settled but everyone was really friendly and helpful. Lots of options and fresh baked goods to chose from. Coffee was superb.

Great drinks served fast! Plenty of seating around work from local artists!

The staff here is always so helpful, and available! The food is great, the tea is great, the atmosphere is great! I never liked coffee, but tried one of the coffeehouse roasts per the suggestion of a staff member and it was actually really good! Go try it for yourself!

My daughter used to work here and I never visited before now. I didn't know what I was missing! We stopped by here trying to kill time between meetings and wow, the food was fantastic. Coffee, of course, was great. Reasonably priced food and fun staff.

A fun and eclectic coffeehouse with a variety of beverage options for coffee and non-coffee drinkers, alike. People can go alone to study or read, or they can go in a small-large group of people. Drinks are always tasty. Worth a visit (or two or three or four...)!

Less expensive and more chill than other coffee places near by. Plus lots of space. Bigger than Coffee Hound and Garlic Press Cafe combined. They have an entirely vegetarian (some vegan) menu, but even if you are an omnivore you will love their food. In a town like Normal, places like this are hard to come by.

Vegan Review

- Options: Several. I got tofu scrambles and a few types of burgers here once. I believe there are gluten free and vegetarian options as well.
- Quality: The food isn't anything spectacular.
- Prices: Fairly low
- Portion Size: Moderate. I eat more than the average person, so I usually get a smaller meal with one of the regular meals.
- Atmosphere: Many people are here on their laptops or reading books. Can spend all day here drinking coffee and eating lunch. Bathrooms are a little messy.
- Service: You order at the front and your food is served to you. Didn't take very long for the meals to be prepared.
- Store hours are slightly misleading, sometimes they close the kitchen early if no one is ordering dinner. Call a few minutes before going to see if they're still serving.

The food is good, but service terribly slow. We went for lunch on 11/11/15, and the place only had about 10 people, five of whom were just having coffee--not ordering food. It still took 30 minutes to get our food. Mind you, this is at noon when they should be expecting a lunch crowd. Obviously, the locals know not to come here for lunch. Another problem: for a coffee house, they only have sugar and sweet 'n low for sweeteners. The most popular sweeteners--Equal and Splenda-- are not provided.

Update: eat there again last week (late February 2016). Six patrons, one order in front of mine. Took 11 minutes to get my food---pretty good. It was hot and tasty. Well done. Still no other sweeteners other than sugar and Sweet 'n Low. I asked worker if there was any other sweeteners (anything behind the counter) and she said 'no'. They've always been limited to sugar and sweet 'n low. So I went to the Coffee Hound for a great latte with splenda.

Horrible staff with plenty of attitude to go around! I guess that's what you get when you employee teenagers. This was posted originally on their Facebook but no one responded. 🤦‍♀️

Wow. I feel like I am in the twilight zone. I absolutely cannot believe the level of disrespect, attitude, and unprofessionalism my husband and I just experienced at your shop. We live in uptown. My husband works in uptown. We live here because we CHOOSE to support our local businesses and community. We CHOOSE to put our hard earned money into local community businesses rather than the Starbucks across the street from our apartment. We CHOOSE to walk the 3 blocks to your shop at a minimum of once a week for your fresh brewed coffee and homemade treats. Vegan treats at that! This was a treasured place for us.
We came in to your business to get an early dinner. The teenager at the counter was obviously not thrilled with her customer service position. Probably best to keep her on window if it's pertinent to have her as an employee, rather than putting her hands and attitude into baking or cooking of food. For as chefs, we understand that energy and intent can be put into food. As the saying goes, "made with love", which she clearly lacked. Understandably, we all have bad days, so when she got a stank attitude for having to tell me the flavors of Italian sodas, I brushed it aside. I actually said a little prayer that her day would get better. My backs been hurting today, so I went to sit down after ordering the chili special while my husband paid. The little girl came to the table a few minutes later, looked me directly in the eyes and let my glass and the soda can fall out of her hands, with a little "f" you in her step as she walked away. My husband who works in food service said to me, did she really JUST do that?
Yep.
She sure did.
While I was sitting there dumbfounded, we made eye contact and she gave me a passive-aggressive squint, like "say something, I dare you". I wasnt sure I actually experienced that, perhaps feeling a bit miffed by her action with the soda can, so I went to make eye contact with her again, and SHE DID IT AGAIN! 🤦‍♀️
I told my husband what happened and that I was uncomfortable with her aggression and I wanted to leave. We went to the counter to cancel our order and get our money back when another young person approached from the back. I asked if a manager was on duty and was told no. I asked if there was a supervisor or key holder on site, and was told no. So my question to you is, why would you leave teenagers to run a business on a Friday, with no supervision or real skill in customer service or problem resolving?
We won't be back.

I just want to point out right off the bat, I've been a regular to the coffeehouse for at least 4 years. I have been a big supporter and have tipped on almost every order, but if not I always tip at least per visit. Today I wanted to mention that I will no longer be a patron of this place. Although I enjoyed the food, the coffee, and the crew, the owner is a horrible person and is the sole reason I will not come back.
Out of nowhere and asked me if i ordered anything besides a water. I had told him I ordered a coffee and meal several hours ago. He then realized I was a regular, noting that he recognized me as a regular and then walked off, no apology for being accused as a freeloader. I was incredibly embarrassed after all the business I gave them over the years and the recommendations I gave to friends and acquaintances. I am hoping that someone else will take over the establishment, because I will not come back until then.
