I was looking for a replacement for Starbucks Reserve when I stumbled upon this coffee house on Washington Street. What I soon discovered is:

1. It’s locally owned and the owner is there preparing food and drinks.
2. The variety of coffee drinks is superior to Starbucks Reserve. The coffee itself is flavorful rather than a bitter coffee that requires lots of sugar and milk.
3. The food and drinks are not only superior, but a lot less expensive than Starbucks Reserve.
4. You can actually get a seat here and enjoy your coffee rather than having to get it to go.
5. It’s got a friendly vibe, not the Starbucks get your coffee and get out vibe.
6. They have outlets for laptops everywhere and the place is pretty quiet.

I love this place now. It’s addictive. Highly recommend.

So happy to have this place in Downtown Naperville! I frequently get coffee and pastries for meetings at our office and have heard nothing but good things from our guests. I treated myself to a cold brew today and I think it's better than Starbucks. Staff is always friendly and accommodating and they have a nice rewards program.

Very true to their name. Everything is very sweet. Cold brew tastes like water.

Personally the 2 stars, because they’re not really adding anything to the local downtown scene and they don’t do anything well as the other downtown cafe shop options. If you’re looking for very sweet “fancy” drinks …just go to Starbucks 2 blocks down. At least Starbucks you can customize almost every aspect - sugar level, milk level. And it’s roughly the same price for the same “style” of drink.

If you’re looking for real coffee and real tea, go to Sparrow Coffee (also only a couple blocks away). Sparrow is AMAZING and as a local coffee shop deserves the love.

If you’re looking for cakes and sweets, go across the street to the Bouchard Chocolate store, it’ll be more options and higher quality sweets than the repackaged ones here.

In terms of offering anything to the downtown scene, this corporate chain doesn’t… everything it offers is done better just a couple mins walk away for the same price point.

If I could give more stars I would. The coffee is EXCELLENT. No matter what season it is! Their egg/cheddar/bacon biscuit sandwich is perfect every single time. All of their food and baked goods are delicious and fresh. I don’t even bother going to any other coffee shop in DT Naperville anymore because this one is the best. I can’t wait for my next visit!

Sweetwaters is an adorable downtown coffeehouse in Naperville. I love their selection of teas and pastries--the coffee goes without question, too!
