Just a really great experience from the environment to the staff and of course the food and drink. One of the best espressos I’ve had. Light, slightly acidic but smooth. Went down fast. So good I bought a bag for home! They say they are the only cafe in the US to sell this Greek espresso bean!

Love this place. It’s my favorite spot to get avocado toast and tea while I read in a comfy chair by the window.

Great Breakfast place! Pistachio croissant was really good and breakfast was fresh

"The corned beef hash was so good, a little crunchy with flavorful onions. The toast and jelly and onions were really good"- 5year old the steak and eggs were perfectly cooked.

Great food, enjoyable scenery. Rude staff, (cashier) Sophie. The other staff members were very friendly.

Cupitol is one of my favorite place in Evanston for decent nice cup of coffee and deserts, and if you stay a whole day there, they also have dinner and wines. Cosy environment for social or family gathering.

Great place to grab some lunch and continue to work in a relaxing environment.

Vegetarians beware! I ordered a bfast sandwich without meat, it arrived with meat, I asked for it without meat so they took it back and just took off the meat and brought it back one min later. I asked if they remade it or just took the meat off and they said, to my face, that they remade it fresh. There was still ham on the bread they had just given back to me. Plain disrespectful and dishonest. Very disappointing.

Pros: Delicious croissant, fruit tart, and pancakes. Some of the staff are friendly.
Cons:
- Expensive and portions are small.
- NOT vegetarian friendly for their traditional breakfast options (i.e. breakfast sandwiches or combo plates) as there are no meat substitute options; you are forced to have meat or still pay for the meat without getting a substitute. You can then pay an outrageous $1.50 for an *extremely* small cup of pico de gallo or some other side to substitute the meat you're still paying for.
- hash browns and the everything bagel we got were very dry and extremely bland
- Brusque, dishonest, and impolite service - very busy and they don't have time to explain to you kindly how you must order first before sitting (also a lack of signage explaining how this works - a simple sign saying please order first before sitting would solve this).

Great coffee and food but noisy. It's crowded, waited for a table for 10 minutes so not bad. I would come back. Their desserts look yummy!

This place saved my life. We got in Thanksgiving morning after being on a red eye from California...meaning I was running on 3 hours of sleep. We were driving through chilly Evanston and I'm Yelping half asleep hoping and praying something decent will be open. It's 7:50 am and I see that Cupitol opens at 8:00am. YES, we find parking right in the front and try and defrost as we wait for it to open. We ordered fresh squeezed oj, a nutella latte, yes I said nutella, an almond milk latte, fruit smoothie, breakfast croissant sandwich with cheddar cheese and sausage-soooooo good! and a chocolate pastry. Love the decor inside and all the natural lighting. I sunk into their comfy couch and drank my latte as I started to come back to life. We were very pleased with everything we had. Thank you Cupitol for thawing me out and waking me up.
