Proving Ground Coffee Roaster & Café

I probably shouldn’t leave a 5-Star review simply for the fact that I don’t want this place to become super crowded and difficult to get into on a Saturday morning, but I can’t help it. Awesome food and staff. Excellent atmosphere. I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say: best place for breakfast in the area.

The food is amazing. I ordered an iced coffee last Saturday morning and it had to have been burnt robustas. Then today I ordered an unsweet tea that was very cloudy and tasted wierd. The server even said it didn't taste right. I sure hope that the drinks get better because I really like this place.

+2 stars for the coffee. -3 stars for the copious amount of FLIES. Trying to focus on work in here is a nightmare. Constant buzzing and swatting. Put up a fly trap overnight or something.

Staff is very polite and welcoming. Caleb has a true passion for excellence and it comes across in every detail of the coffee, the ambience, and the atmosphere. I drink my coffee black, because it just tastes too good to be sugared up!

Decent place to eat. Food was a little pricey. Three Egg Scramble did not seem to scramble all the ingredients together, rather sorta layered then with the scrambled eggs on top.
Order at counter, food is brought to table.

Love this place. Breakfast is always great. Coffee is pretty good as well. One of the gems of Columbia!

Chicken salad croissant was a bit soggy. Had to cut up in pieces to pick up.

One of my favorite places in the St. Louis Metro area for my morning coffee. From the pancakes, to the bakery items AND the coffee, you cannot go wrong here. Great people and great food. I visit here at least a couple days a week.

The food and coffee was pretty good, but the service was kind of slow, and the prices were definitely high for what you get. It wouldn’t stop me from going there again, but I would probably check out other places first, to find something more cost-effective.

This place has a lot of potential. Unfortunately it fell short. The food was good but cold. Service was nice. The restaurant was clean. They followed social distance protocol, for the most part.
