Proving Ground Coffee Roaster & Café

I took my 9 & 6 yr old granddaughters here for breakfast & they loved it! Fruit, yogurt, granola bowl & oreo pancakes were awesome! There was plenty!!! And the 6 yr old loved the couch & pillows!

Proving Ground Cafe is a wonderful coffee shop! My experience occurred on a Saturday morning trying to buy for three different people. The waitress was very friendly and helpful giving suggestions on flavors. I bought a honey lavender drink, cappuccino, and regular coffee. Mine was the coffee-fresh, hot, and delicious. The two others I bought for said the same. I didn't order food but saw the meals others ordered. They looked appetizing with large portions. I will be back for a meal. Proving Ground Cafe is a great asset to Columbia. This is my new go to for a high quality cup of coffee!

I had some time waiting for my car to be fixed, wandered in for a vanilla frap and a muffin. I knew it would be good, and it was REALLY good! The staff is very friendly, and very quick. It turned out to be a very nice morning. I have gone back a few times since. A hidden gem!

The hollandaise is not traditional, it's spicy. I love spicy food but I couldn't taste any of the awesomely cooked and presented benedict. More of a remoulade taste/texture, I'll be getting it on the side next time😉 Coffee and atmosphere are always great here!

Great little coffee shop and breakfast spot with very friendly staff. Enjoyed the iced americano with no sugar or cream. It was very smooth. Wish I tried the food because it looked good!

A little expensive on their drinks but good atmosphere. My husband got a Butterbeer and I got a Cappuccino. Both were good.The people are nice and the food looks great. I'm going back to try the tacos! I'll update when I do.
Update: I've been back several times and tried their food and other drinks, including their tacos. I've been pleasantly surprised with everything.🌮

I saw several customers miss the silverware at the register then have to get up to get it after food is brought to the table.

But, the food and staff were great! 👍🏻

From the first step in this place is very inviting, very clean and cozy. Food was amazing and well presented. Service is wonderful. We loved that the owner Jacob was up front taking orders and very interacting in every aspect. We will definitely be back and will recommend Proving Grounds to our friends!!!

Two days in a row!! This place is unexpectedly DELICIOUS, the service was great and caramel machi-whatever-it is my boyfriend drinks was on point! Definitely recommend this place and we'll for sure be back.

Not one to write reviews, but here I am...this place has awesome potential and I’m not saying not to give them a shot, the food is good but the two times I’ve been here my eggs were over cooked both times. First time I got the eggs benny, poached eggs expecting yolk which kinda makes the dish, hard yolk. Figured I’d go back give em another shot got the match chorizo hash ordered my eggs over easy thinking maybe I’ll get lucky and they’ll come out over med like I prefer...hard again. The flavor is there but the technique needs some work. Hopefully they can overcome this.
