Walking in I knew I had found a pretty special hole in the wall. The initial energy that hits you has you feeling as comfortable as any regular just in for their usual. The staff was incredibly friendly, and educated me on a load of facts on the blues and the artists that helped build it into the beautiful tool of expression it is today. Without question you'll be in caffeinated heaven at the halfway point of your first sip. Couple it with a relaxing view of a quaint downtown neighborhood, and you've got the perfect ingredients for your new coffee spot.

Leave one of the best places in Bucktown for coffee. I love stopping over here for their on tap brews. Always good for a grab and go when you are in West Bucktown or Bucktown. The staff is awesome. This is one of my favorites.

Electric Mud Coffee Bar, located just off of the Western "L" stop in Bucktown, is a must-visit spot for coffee lovers seeking a cozy, artistic, and friendly atmosphere. As a Dark Matter Coffee location, it stands out with its top-notch staff and incredible music selection, which perfectly complements the eye-catching, wacky murals that adorn its walls. This unique space defies the cookie-cutter coffee shop aesthetic, offering a refreshing alternative to Pinterest-inspired, overdone marketing ploys.

During my visit, I enjoyed a 12oz mocha oat milk latte alongside a glazed donut – the perfect treat for a productive work session on my laptop. While the cafe is on the smaller side, offering around 7 tables with 2-3 seats each, I had no trouble finding a spot and felt right at home. This place is AWESOME. The baristas, owner, and overall vibes of this place cannot be beat. They worked with me last minute to help on a work task, and they were the best in helping me achieve my goal. Highly highly recommend!! 😊

I have to start by saying I love Dark Matter coffee, so there's some bias there. The coffee is fantastic. The staff was helpful. I wanted to purchase some cans and they gave me a lot of insight into the flavor profiles. There is limited space, but I didn't feel rushed to leave. Great place for a good cup of coffee.

Unfortunately quality has gone downhill. I have received cold to lukewarm cappuccinos on multiple occasions. When I request it "extra hot" to try to get reasonably warm coffee, the barista just adds another cup as insulation.... this doesn't fix the problem of serving lukewarm coffee. Used to love coming here but will not be ordering coffee here ever again, as it's clearly a pattern and I'll never receive an actually warm cappuccino from here.

Love this spot. The fact that you can get 4 different iced coffees (black) says it all for me.

Music is always a little too loud to work or take a call, but the staff and coffee still make it a 5 star spot IMO.

Go early if you want some awesome breakfast food (sells out daily - from another local spot)

I love trying unique drinks and decided to try a special latte but I can’t remember the name! I know it had sage in it. It was very subtle and smooth. A very tasty drink for fall! You can order ahead from their app for faster service.

My favorite place for a latte and to chill in Chicago!!! I love to get the barrel aged mocha latte!
