I got "the champ" iced and it was absolutely delicious! 10 out of 10 recommend! Also, the baristas are super sweet and welcoming which made my experience ten times better! I also super appreciated the ginormous fan which kept the store breezy from the Kauai humidity. Lastly, the waterfall painting had me mesmerized! It was great to just sit in peace, sip my latte, and look at some beautiful art.

place is situated in a wonderful space. we ended up here at the end of our first day of a week stay in poipu. our barista just so happened to be the roaster who had just finished roasting for the week. we nerded out on some coffee talk and cupping scores of the separate coffees from the blend she just finished roasting and roasting profiles and why she extended out the roast a little further into almost a full city… needless to say, these people know coffee. came back every day of our stay. espresso drinks were all great. drip coffee was great… but with all that being said, only thing you need to know is haupia foam cold brew. life changing stuff. that alone is worth the trip, but everything else is great too.

After making Dark Horse our coffee shop of choice while in Kauai on vacation, I can absolutely say it’s worth the hype! The Champ and their cold brews were delicious, the the star of the show was their shortbread cookie. DO NOT leave without trying it, you won’t be disappointed!
