White chocolate frappe was delicious! I wish they cranked up the AC a bit more though. We planned to stay and read our books while we drank our coffee, but it was too warm to stay. Still, the coffee was great and I'll be back

Not a place to enjoy alone — no WiFi. As a writer, coffee shops are usually the perfect environment to work but WiFi is very important. This shop has purposely chosen to not have it available so I am clearly not the intended clientele. Although their desire for “connecting on a human level” is very admirable, the seating is sparse, the decor is sterile, and the music sounds more like a low-key club.

For grab-and-go (which is what most other customers appeared to be doing), the Akamai Coffee Co is fine. Their brewed coffee is good: smooth, flavorful, not bitter. The banana bread was a little dry and mild in flavor but decent.

Very hip and clean. Delicious espresso. Easy to get to, they also have a drive-through. If you're in Maui and going to Starbucks, you're doing it wrong. Go here instead.

Great coffee and very friendly staff. The seating area is great too and they even have some swings inside!

The coffee is good, but expensive even for Maui, the seating is uncomfortable and they don’t have wifi. Looks like they don’t want you to hang out there.

Favorite coffee shop on the island...and they have a drive through, you guys! Perfect for grabbing a delicious specialty coffee from a friendly local barista before hitting the beach in the morning.

This is the place to go for coffee if you love that modern, Maui vibe and stellar local coffee (which is grown here on the island and roasted by the team at Akamai). I love spending time here: you can't beat the clean, light atmosphere and the fast, friendly service of this coffee company. Also, it's now the only coffee I have in my kitchen (see picture).

I was severely disappointed with the service I received as well as the drink I purchased October 2017. On the first day arriving in Maui, I was excited to try a local coffee shop, and reading the reviews on Akamai, I wanted to give it a try.

Upon entering, I spoke with Kimberly, the owner of the coffee house. Not knowing what to get, being a tourist, I asked her what the most popular drinks were. She responded that most customers know what to get--Her response was not helpful. Once I decided upon ordering the 16 oz "Akamai Features" which was flavored with Macadamias, I requested to have "light ice." What I got in the end was the opposite--the ice filled 3/4 of the cup (please see picture for reference). Although the drink was tasty, it only amounted to a few sips before I finished the drink. For 6 dollars, that's a hefty price to pay.

Instead of being one of those customers that requests for a redo, I just accepted it knowing I wouldn't be back. I am all for supporting local coffee shops and would have returned, but the first experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. In the end, I visited Mill House Roasting Co., further north, on more than one occasion, as the value and service I received was better.

*To reiterate, the quality is there and clearly the shop is popular with a majority of positive reviews. I hope to see them continue in their success, and hope my feedback can prevent my experience from happening with future customers.

Just spent a week in Maui and went here every morning for coffee and loved it. Thanks to all the girls that work there to make this a great memory of my vacation. Some of the best Expresso I've ever had.

Delicious, locally grown, locally roasted coffee! Friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming service from the young lady at the counter. Many whole bean coffee options to purchase and support local growers. Would love to return!
