Sugar Magnolia Bistro & Bar

I usually only leave comments for places I would recommend. This is a beautiful restaurant, friendly staff and great ingredients. It's a shame then that it took them 30 minutes to take our order, another hour for them to bring it to our table, and when we got it, French toast was cold, and one of the entrees didn't come out for another 20 minutes after two of us had already finished. This food is supposed to be upscale, especially at these prices. Sorry to say that great ingredients do not ensure a great meal. I wish I could recommend this place. I cannot.

As I am sitting here in the parking lot I am very disappointed in the service that was not given as I sat at the table for well over ten minutes after being seated just waiting for someone to take my drink order... They were not busy so not quite sure what the problem was maybe I didn't look the part. In any case will not be returning to this shady establishment....

Brussels and bacon was a great appetizer and Cobia with butternut squash risotto. There are pieces of squash in the risotto that are tender and melt in your mouth if I could eat 5 bowls of it I would! The Cobia is firm and taste similar to a seabass but better by a long shot I would definitely recommend!

I enjoyed my breakfast waffle sandwich. Most of all I enjoyed my server. She was great at Multitasking. She just graduated from GSU. She made my experience eating alone so pleasant. She put me in a place of comfort. She thought about me. So Thank You So Much young lady and May GOD BLESS You and your new beginning.

My wife had I believe it was a chai latte tea I had the "sweetheart" lavender flavored hot coffee with half-and-half cream.
My wife and I shared a cranberry Orange scone , Both drinks and the scone were delicious , the service was good very nice interior and very nice upscale menu

100% would recommend this restaurant to anyone in Statesboro, GA! Love the food, love the drinks. Highly recommend flight night on Thursday’s. I visited with family and Mars was our server and she made our experience 10x better. I personally would go back just to see her! Lol. The staff in general are kind and have a good knowledge of a menu that has varying dishes from all over the world. In my experience the food has been fantastic, big shout to the chefs and folks in the back. Additionally, I am also a massive fan of outdoor seating and thankfully Sugar Mag has plenty! Nothin like an outdoor brunch! 5 stars!

Caroline and her staff are always amazing but Tyler knocked it out of the park. It was a busy Friday night and Tyler made it look flawless. Attentive to a large table of prom guests, my small table of 2, her other customers, answering the phone. She was friendly and helpful and never missed a thing. Food was delicious as usual. Sugar Magnolia always a treat.

I have tried to give Sugar Magnolia chance after chance, but after lunch today with a couple friends we decided that it is just not worth visiting again. The concept is great, but their execution is poor. A $20 sandwich (hot pressed Cuban) should not be ice cold with the cheese not even melted as soon as it is served. A friend’s sandwich was also cold and shouldn’t have been. I’ve tried this place three times, and the staff is unfriendly every time, everyone working here seems very bothered. Not to mention the prices, I can understand paying more for a quality experience and a good atmosphere, but Sugar Magnolia will nickel and dime you to death and leave you feeling unsatisfied by an overpriced meal with terrible service.

Great food, but definitely NOT the place for large groups. We had 12 and were sat at a table big enough for 8. The poor server was doing her best. She was very helpful and had a great attitude. The food here has always been fantastic. I considered giving them 4 stars, but they definitely deserve a 5 star review with a smaller party. If I'd gone here with just my wife or another couple, I'm sure I would have no complaints. Definitely recommend, but with smaller parties.
