The Open Door at Alley's Ol' Store

Really good food and friendly service. Simple but unique menu that will be sure to satisfy your tastes. We happened to stop here on a road trip and would definitely do it again. Highly recommend eating here.

Good food, service and friendly staff.

Absolutely adorable restored old general store and cafe in a tiny sweet town called Lakemont off the "beaten path". I would definitely coem here for coffee or lunch, chat with the staff, and shop around their selection of gifty and rustic home decor items. There is an additional shop upstairs we did not go to - it has cosmetics and clothes, among other things I believe I was told. Definitely make this a pit stop if you are driving along the scenic lake.

Such a gem! The Quiche was delicious and the salad was very fresh, visited the quaint shop upstairs and found high quality treasures. We will be back to enjoy soon !

My son said give it ten stars! We can’t so we’ll just say we had fantastic ham and cheese sandwich and meatloaf sandwich on ciabatta. Hand dipped iced cream cones for dessert. We love the store and the food!

Delicious and home made style foods, much healthier than other options. Beautiful historic setting by the river, with the option of outdoor seating. Cute gifts, too!

Great stop off the beaten path. Authentic people and the Harvest sandwich with bacon is an excellent choice! Highly recommended.

Good Sandwich like you make at home.

Unbelievably charming place. Everyone working was very sweet. Great sandwiches. Stopped here on a whim driving back to Atlanta from NC during fall -- will be back.
