San Julián’s Coffee Bar

Wonderful coffee and friendly staff! The guy who usually makes my coffee is a bit quiet, but he's always very polite and kind. Their empanadas are to die for. Located directly between the Winter Park Library and Trader Joes shopping plaza, it's the perfect way to start your day, especially if you continue on and drive to Downtown Winter Park, which is less than a mile away.

That being said, I would take 1/2 star off since I find the interactions with the owner and other staff (excluding my usual barista, who is always a quiet guy) very inconsistent. I have sat and observed several transactions on multiple visits. Some days, the owner and other staff are friendly and welcoming; some days, they're very transactional and barely pay attention to customers except their regular favorites. They don't typically welcome customers as they walk in the door, but you can usually expect an acceptable experience while ordering. Sometimes amazing. Sometimes meh.

This was my first time here and I wish I would’ve known about this place sooner! I ordered the chicken empanada, the empanada with sweet plantains, shredded beef and beans; as well as a cortadito and I was blown away. This is the ABSOLUTE BEST COFFEE AND EMPANADAS in Orlando and that I have ever had! Anyone who says otherwise is delusional and probably lost their taste due to Covid. You will fall in love with one sip and bite.

3rd time here …. Not a fan of the experience and the customer service! Waited a while the last 2 and at 8:40am today I was told the coffee machine needs to be warmed up that will be 10 mins.

Just go somewhere else if you want a good warm coffee! (Was not even hot or worth the wait)

Experienced and knowledgeable staff. The coffee was absolutely delicious. This will definitely be a regular spot for me now.

The coffee was delicious. The bacon egg and cheese croissant was also yummy! Would come back.

It was ok. Not a fan of the flavored and sugary coffees. Was bummed to not be able to get a regular, drip hot coffee.

Good coffee, but the service was pretty slow. I waited about 20ish minutes for one Hazelnut Cafe Latte. Staff looked like they were flustered with having had 4 orders to make ahead of mine. There’s better coffee shops with faster service in the area.

I visited for the first time today after finding out about them in an Orlando Weekly article . The cafe is very bright, clean and modern. The croissants in the case are larger than life! The guava and cheese quesito was very good. My flat white was nice as well, and made with care. I will definitely be back!

Really amazing ownership and staff first and foremost. The coffee is unbelievable and the food is amazing. If you’re a bit tired of ordering pre-packaged microwaved stuff from Starbucks, please come in and give this place a try.
