Absolutely worth a stop. Just ate here for the first time and was blown away. Had fried green tomatoes and beer bread as appetizers which were phenomenal. Tomatoes were some of the best I’ve ever had and were wonderfully presented. Had the “Rev” burger as my main dish which was topped with a fried green tomato and an over easy egg. Thing. Was. Delicious! Can’t recommend this joint enough. If I’m the Monticello area definitely stop and check them out! You won’t regret it!

Wonderful! Our food was great, staff was very welcoming and our server, Hope, was very knowledgeable about the plant based/vegan options. So happy the Proof beer bread is vegan!! It was delicious! We got the black bean burger, fries, vegan chili, fried pickles and house salad with peach vinaigrette. (The mushroom stack is awesome too!) And everything was great!!
My only suggestion: to have a vegan bun for the black bean burger and the mushroom stack. :)

Locally owned and locally sourced - the Rev is hard to beat! It’s worth the drive if you aren’t in Monticello. Cute rustic aesthetic with high quality food! My personal favorite is the Monti burger, which features local satsuma jelly(think tangerines or cuties), onion rings, and a variety of protein options. The fried chicken is gluten free, so if you’re gluten intolerant it’s a great chance to try some fried chicken! It has rosemary in it, so it’s not your typical breading. Whatever you order you should probably get the fries - you’ll thank me later!

Driving by Monticello, found this cute little southern cafe. Had me some fried chicken and collard greens, we also ordered the REV up Venison Burger, and of course we had the fried green tomatoes!! Food was soo good!

The hubs and I tried this place on a whim. The food was delicious and our server, Josh, was wonderful. This place is quaint with seating both inside and out on the patio. The menu has a large selection with beer and wine choices to match. What an incredible find!

We are traveling and found this restaurant on our way through town. First off, the food was excellent. I had greens and grits with gouda and the fried green tomato off of hubs burger. The grits with gouda, yes please, so good and creamy. The gouda gives the grits a buttery taste but next level. I will be trying this at home. The greens were perfectly cooked with enough kick to give them a nice heat and the fried green tomato was the best I have ever had. You can get a lot of entrees with 4 different choices of meat including venison and buffalo. The atmosphere is fun. We sat outside on the covered porch and it was a beautiful day so a plus. The inside looks small and not so impressive. I would call it rustic. The outside is better and you get a view of a cool white building (government?) very southern with large pillars and lots of large oaks.

Really nice location. Online rated $$, probably closer to $$$.
The menu has a good selection of choices.
Appetizers are a bit expensive.
Their signature Beer Bread is about $9 for a 3"x 5"x2" loaf. It's closer to a cake.
Definitely not a typical beer bread nor is it very good nor worth the price.
I had Fish and Chips. Did not ask the type of fish. Ended up being cheap Tilapia fried. Was too flimsy to hold so definitely a fork dish.
Tasted OK, but again, not great.
The fries were good.
Tarter Sause was exceptional.
My wife had garlic-buttered Salmon. It was Very Good. Came with grilled Vegies which were good.
It appeared from many items on menu l, they want to put a spin on some dishes. This includes an overpriced Shepards Pie (come on, $14?). Was told by another guest It was horrible. Can not rate this myself. Fried green tomatoes (southern thing) priced twice as much as Talky Fish House, was topped with Chipotle Sauce???
By 4pm (the close at 8pm) they were out of Fried Chicken. Really wanted to try this. Other reviews stated it was good. But again had a spin to batter. I was fascinated.
Side Note for those who know Real Greek Salad (though few do) original Greek Salad (espically that of Tarpon Springs Louis Pappas style) has Greek potatoes salad on bottom below a mound of lettuce with sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, green bell pepper, red onion, black olives, pepperoncini and feta cheese (shrimp).
The Greek salad here is close but lacks potato salad... typical for this area). Did not taste dressing to see if it was real with pepperoncini juice added. But from what I saw.. this looked Good here.
Anyway, Monticello is lacking in restaurants. This location across from court house is nice. They offer outdoor seating and inside seating. I've passed here many times due to it being crowded on weekends, especially during Bike Season when motorcyclists make it a go-to spot. It is family-friendly and not a hang out though.
Another guest told me the burgers are really good. But can not rate these personally either.

Friendly spot right on the charming town square in Monticello. Helpful servers, local microbrew beer on tap, ( Satsuma Wheat is so refreshing!) outdoor seating. Some typical options on the menu like shrimp and grits and jambalaya. Burgers offer multiple options for protein, beef, bison, pork chorizo, venison, or house made black bean burger.
I opted for the Rev burger with bison and the Gouda grits. Fried green tomato, fried egg, bacon. Sooooo delicious!!!

The food was great and they use lots of fresh local ingredients. I had a steak and it was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. My partner had the mushroom grits and loved them. Overall we enjoy the food and the atmosphere. When we went it was a beautiful day so we were able to sit outside. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The restroom was clean and tidy and overall the facility looked very clean.

***Under new Management***
Absolutely the worse experience I've ever had in a "restaurant". Meals ordered and later told that aren't available. Second option ordered and came out 45mins apart for a party of 8.
In addition, drinks weren't available after the second glass. Overall I highly recommend avoiding this "restaurant". Brandon, the manager wasn't much help. Told the waitress that he was too busy to se us and explain the situation.
Will never return.
Oh, and $25 gift card for an entire table? Absolutely ridiculous. Brandon needs to learn custom relations.
Thanks.
