It's a really great place for food. The staff always treat us well and are very nice and accommodating. They treat our child well and he enjoys the toast and orange juice. Plus you can never go wrong with a Cafe con Leche

Outstanding lunch experience! Everything we samples was great from the ham croquettes for appetizer to the sandwiches. Clean tables and friendly wait staff.

The service is great but the food lacks flavour and the portions are small. But the beans are pretty good and the ropa vieja is probably the plate I would recommend.
There aren't many latin options around Gainesville so while I wouldn't recommend Mi Apa as my go-to, its not a bad option if you're looking for latin/cuban cuisine.

Their vaca frita keeps me sane and reminds me of the one I used to get in my hometown in broward. 🥰

Although it's in a college town and it is constantly busy, the waiters and waitresses really try their best to make sure that every customer receives attention when needed. The first time I went there, they were slammed. There were probably around 60 people there, so I didn't take it personally when my waitress forgot my side of rice. However, once I brought it to her attention, she apologized for my wait and shortly brought it out along with three huge complementary pastries and she thanked me for my patience. I love arepas, so I recommend them. They are huge, probably 5 to 6 inches in diameter. However, if you're going to get a chicken arepa, don't get number 9. Get number 11 instead; it is seasoned chicken with avocado. It is so much tastier than the grilled chicken with cheddar and it goes great with the avocado. I even add mayo to mine, too. The best part is: they're between $5-$6. Number 9 also says it comes with grilled onions or sauteed onions, but it doesn't. What they mean is: The chicken is cooking with onion. The first time I went I got number 9 cause I love grilled onions but ahh, no actual onions in it. My boyfriend got the Cuban sandwich one time and the Miami sandwich the other time. Both were hits to him. 5 churros for $1.99, too!

5 stars for the empanada. They have several kinds to chose from. My favorite was the shredded beef. Best in the area!

Loved it! Came here after watching morning practice for the UF team. Great staff kept up with a mad rush. Super friendly. Good food. Not expensive. Best coffee I've had in a long time. Thank you!

Excellent service from everyone and especially my server. The place was new to me, so I looked over and asked many questions about the food on the menu. The server was very kind and patient. The place was very clean, well organized and smelled like fresh food... not chemicals or cleaners. I ordered a pressed cuban combo and the sandwich was better than any previous Cubans elsewhere, and the only reason they got 4 instead of 5 is that they served lime with my half & half because they don't carry lemons. An interesting twist, not terrible, but I do like my lemon.
