Had to visit and try the crogel! Coffee, atmosphere and staff are great. My favorite coffee shop in the area.

Great local coffee shop. Their empanadas are pretty good too. They do not have public wifi, so you'll need to use a hotspot if you plan on working on a laptop!

Steps away from the Takoma Station you'll find one of the best, cozy coffee shops in DC. The cortado and cappuccino are always a hit and the pan the yuca has a good amount of cheese (as they should). During the week is not as crowded but I went on Saturday and it was packed. And of course, the coffee is great, it makes sense. It is worth the wait in line. We got a bag of coffee beans from Huila (Colombian coffee is just delicious) and it smells and tastes great. I need a decent Expresso machine to make good coffee at home. We'll be back for Breakfast soon.

Best coffee I have ever had! I love the earl grey latte. Also there is a vegan donut place nearby.

Maybe it was just a cloudy and coldish day outside, maybe it was too crowded inside, maybe I expected too much, maybe I waited for my empanada for too long to be reheated and it came out too blazing hot while I already had a coffee ready but could not sit anywhere, maybe it is because I’ve never heard of “Argentinian style chicken empanada” and real Argentinian empanadas have cut beef, not ground? Probably a combination of these factors led to an overall disappointing experience. Giving it 4 starts anyway because coffee was objectively good relative to many 4+ star DC coffee shops.

Beautiful atmosphere, covid safe, lively music, delicious food, and tasty coffee! What more could a girl ask for! Loved working here while sipping my hot latte!

Nice place to read a book and drink a tea. You need to add sugar to the ice coffees as these are unsweetened.

If you love coffee and want some of D.C.'s best, visit Lost Sock Roaster out of a 1930s theater in Takoma. After working out of Brightwood for a number of years, they opened their first cafe in February 2021. Here's why you should visit:

1) Coffee: They have a full coffee menu from lattes to pour overs to cortados. The coffee is sustainably sourced and roasted in small batches in Washington, D.C. If you're not into coffee, still go. They make hot chocolate and chai lattes.

2) Food: Every morning they put out fresh pastries (sweet and savory) and empanadas. For $10, you get three empanadas. I ordered buffalo chicken, bacon and egg and beef empanadas. They come with sauce making them the best I've ever had. The filling is flavorful and the dough doesn't overpower it.

3) Space: It's well-designed with a stunning bar where you order. In partnership with University of Maryland, art hangs on the walls. During the pandemic, you can't stay, but eventually there will be a few seats.

If you love coffee, Lost Sock is worth your time. They also sell their beans at Made In DC shops across town.

Excellent coffee. Small but tasty assortment of pastries. Empanadas and sandwich options for a light meal. Outdoor and indoor seating. Small but usually somewhere to sit.

Best pour over in Takoma Park. Get the Costa Rica and melt away into the moment. No wifi. BYOHotspot.
