This diner was a new find looking for somewhere to eat after the Naugatuck annual Duck Day festival where little plastic ducks are dropped into the river from the bridge above on Maple St. They each have numbers on them so people can purchase ducks and hope their duck is one of twenty to cross the finish line first for a prize.

The Coffee Shoppe opens at 4AM seven days a week, which is something amazing in itself. Great for early birds. Serving breakfast and lunch they close at one o'clock M-F and Noon on weekends.

Because it was Duck Day, they stayed open to serve all the patrons looking for a place to have a sit down meal. Already afternoon, we passed on breakfast and had lunch - a rare cheeseburger (their burgers are made by hand with fresh beef) and my partner had one of their specials of the day that was on the signboard outside: Grilled sausage and peppers with cheese on a Kaiser roll. Sandwiches do not come with fries. Sides are extra.

Our waitress suggested we try the Chef's chili since he made a batch for today and told us customers love it. It was okay. One bowl had cool spots in it, the other was warmed through. This is a good chili for the top of a hot dog. The cook and waitstaff were very friendly. There are booths and counter stools for patrons. Because of the volume this Sunday they were out of water, ice tea and some other beverages but we were fine with some cranberry juice. They also offer the popular local Ami brand bagels.

Love this little coffee shop! It’s got great local diner vibe and very welcoming staff. Prices are incredibly reasonable and the food and coffee is delicious! Would recommend and will definitely return.

A small little coffee shop, with big potential! In terms of size, it's a little bit cramped, but still cozy. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. The good was absolutely phenomenal. I had the steak, egg and cheese sandwich. The roll was super fresh and the ingredients were all very tasty and hot. The coffee was really good too. We had a party of 4 and all of us left satisfied and in good spirits

Burnsies is a hidden gem in Naugatuck, it’s the kind of diner you look for in a town. It’s a place the locals go, the regulars know your name as does the staff. Food is exactly what you want, fresh, good, fast and inexpensive. Without any reference you could easily imagine sitting there in the 60’s and 70’s and it would probably look and smell the same. Prices are very fair. I highly recommend the home fries, reminds me of the home fries I had in my youth at the long gone Teds Spa in Seymour. The coffee is exactly as good as you would expect and the cup is always filled. Burnsies is very small so if you plan on going Sunday morning try to go early and beat the crowds

This is the second time my husband and I have come to this diner. The first experience was a really great one so we decided to return. When you look up the coffee shop it says they open at 4am on the building it says 4:30am well it's now after 5:30am and there is no one in sight. No cook no wait staff nothing. We've been sitting here for over an hour and a half. In the mean time regulars have come and gone trying to figure out what's going on and why aren't they open by now.

For starters they got young girl waitress with a nose ring, gave us our coffee but then forgot about us to take our order, another waitress came over to take our order. The bacon was extremely salty and home fries had no taste, the coffee was ok but then I looked and there were these floating translucent things floating in the coffee like Lilly pads. Kinda like when you put cooked pudding in the fridge to harden and you get that layer on top of the pudding (like skin)

I will never go back here

Good morning familia. 1 star? I love small hole in the wall places, this is the worst!!! The coffee looks like dirty water! The cook leans over the food as he cooks the food. Nice memorabilia. Have a blessed day.
