Great service and coffee. Stopped in to buy a pound of coffee as a gift for a friend. Walked out with the lb. and two excellent cups of joe. Staff was great and friendly. I’m tying their breakfast tomorrow.

So we are traveling on a roadtrip thru Leadville heading south and spot this gem of a coffeehouse with the most delicious baked goods. My only regret is that I didn't buy a whole bunch of those oatmeal cookies. The best one I ever had. Seriously, I am going home to work on making some. This place has that right vibe of sweet local favorite spot. They sell these amazing wood carved landscapes. Seek this place out as you will be amazed.

Very tasty breakfast burritos (I tried the chorizo and also the southwest ones). And the coffee was good. Oh, the cinnamon rolls were awesome! Get them warm. I took a star off because there was a long line (which is fine) but it barely moved; it took about 45 minutes to order. Once we ordered it was quick.

The food is always great. I noticed the sandwiches are now wrapped in the cold case instead of being made in the kitchen, I thought my sandwich would not taste as good but it’s perfect! Lettuce is crispy, bread is good! My only complaint is when it gets really busy and kind of congested but that’s expected in Leadville. Overall, City on a Hill has got to have some of the best food in Leadville. Also, Vanessa was very nice and made me enjoy my experience even more!

Awesome coffee shop - most importantly the coffee itself was fantastic, and the food was exceptionally good too. Definitely recommend the eclair - you need to get there early to get a slice. The carvings of the mountains are really unique and beautiful too. Wish I lived closer so I could visit more often.

Don’t even think about coming in here with a service animal! I was chased out by an older woman who demanded I leave because of my service dog. I was traveling, It was freezing outside and I needed to feed my service animal and get myself some coffee. This woman ran around from the counter and got right in my face and said my dog had to go outside. I explained he is my service animal with a vest and clearly labeled SERVICE ANIMAL, she said no outside! I informed what she was doing was against the law, I said very calmly.
she still insisted, and went on and on about how so many people come into the building that are not “really service animals” I let her know and showed that he was in fact a service dog.
After that I explained that refusal of service to me was illegal and discriminatory she then(not sincere in my opinion) start to apologize, “I don’t want to be accused of breaking the law” with a rude and sarcastic tone.
I was so shocked by her aggressive, rude behavior I very quickly and politely left the building. She didn’t have to get in my face. My service animal and I don’t stay where we are not wanted.
What’s a really sad is how often I do have to leave my dog in car for places I know will cause a problem. I try so hard to be respectful.
I BELIEVE I WAS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST AND WAS REFUSED SERVICE HERE!

Fantastic little coffee shop in the heart of Leadville Colorado. This wonderful little meeting spot and sit down shop posted variety of different bakery items and fresh bread and delicious desserts. We enjoyed having our coffee and eating the wonderful jacket in foods that they lovingly and craft daily. Hours of operation are also very generous considering the way most other locations around town operate my closing very early and opening up very late. Overall the coffee was fantastic they also sell it if you’d like to take some home with you and we did purchase several different kinds.

Great spot to grab a coffee and then some. Swung by on my way out after going to Mt. Massive and their coffee was great. The price was even better, $2 for a medium roast drip, 16 oz. I also had a their garden salad, $7.50 and that was tasty. They also have pasties and sandwiches (saw someone order a burrito) that looked solid. It was my first visit but won’t be my last.

This was a great treasure find for this coffee-lover. After traveling through the Rockies for 5 days I was surprised how hard it was to find a fine cup. I sat in the busy shop for a solid hour sipping and noshing. My soul restored. Ha! They roast their own coffee, nice! The staff was efficient and friendly, the food fresh and tasty. Go here.

Nice little coffee shop. Friendly, helpful staff and a cozy mountain atmosphere. They have sandwiches and an assortment of fresh pastries as well. Worth a stop!
