If you are looking for coffee specifically, this is your spot! They do it and do it well. If you’re looking for microwaved cafeteria food and astringent one note roasts, hit the chain. This is a gem of a place that gets coffee.

I have tried their roast and absolutely love it. I’m very picky about the being I choose, and how well it is roasted. A delicate balance achieving a good flavor without a burned aftertaste. I did try to find them on foot, and ended up at the wrong coffee shop LOL. I think the mapping program can be off sometimes, but make the effort to stop in and grab a hot fresh cup of coffee.

Truly a special place. My personal favorite coffee spot in truckee. The atmosphere sets it apart. With a down to earth vibe for sure. You also can't go wrong with any of their roasts depending on your own personal preference. They specialize more in pour-overs if that's your thing. They also have some quality teas. I'd also reccomend grabbing a waffle. Sometimes I go just for that!

Best coffee in Truckee. I've been to every one of the places I think :) If you've been to the Dark Horse in San Diego and enjoyed it, you'll enjoy this one too. Quaint, across the street from Jacks on the Tracks. Cool place to chill and have a cup of coffee. The people working here are passionate and love what they are doing.

Great little coffee shop and roastery in downtown Truckee. It's in a semi-basemet space with tons of character. Several bean varieties and origins for sale, and good selection of drinks. We had a cold brew and french toast latte: cold brew was a darker roast with tons of umami flavor; french toast latte (maple syrup with cinnamon) was balanced and not too sweet.

Great spot to hang out and listen to live music once covid ends.

Awesome coffee and service! If I'm in Truckee again, I'll definitely be coming back to Dark Horse. They offered quite a few different beans and made a delicious pour over. We bought a pound of the Ethiopian beans to go and were very happy with them!

This coffee shop is a little tough to find, but well worth the search!! Expect to enjoy some amazing coffee or tea in an eclectically decorated environment. This place is very cozy and a great place to read a book or have a chat with a small group.

Always happy to get a cup of coffee from my favorite coffee shop away from home (San Diego)
