Ok, so I went to the speakeasy and told one of my stories and read a poem I wrote. Excellent atmosphere, people, drinks. They even made a veggie soup, contribution only on that delicious warm up. Some writers read chapters from their book, poems, music...

Friendly service, warm atmosphere and fantastic coffee. Can't ask for more. I don't come to Truckee often but when I do I always stop for a coffee. Absolutely worth a visit.

We needed to place a last-minute Christmas order and have it shipped halfway across the country. Drew and the Darkhorse team jumped on it, were super easy to work with, and exceeded our expectations. Thanks to their efforts, there's going to be a bunch of happy folks in Indiana this Christmas!

This place knows how to make coffee .. stop looking for a starbucks! this is the real stuff. they know how to make HOT COCOA. Starbucks couldn't make a hot cocoa if their lives depended on it. So - a lot of drinks are suckie there. However - this place does mochas right .. and .. any other specialty drink you might want. Staff is very friendly, not snobby like the other place. I go here on my way up the mountain - and - back down again. It would be nice if they could stick some Grand Mariner in my hot cocoa once in a while. hmmmmmm. Check me for a flask next time .. that was a GREAT idea. See you there.

Great roasts, interesting prices, staff, ambiance, and location: maybe four parking spots and thus a rather low likelihood of a crowd. Ideal for study, meetups, remote work, and/or a relaxed, morning-routine hexashot Americano, half heavy cream enjoyed in the sun.

This is a funky little coffee place that just makes me feel comfortable. They have muffin and coasiant sort of things and pre-cooked waffles that they serve like muffins and a few classic old books to browse.

Best coffee in Truckee. For those that appreciate coffee (not the S-bucks stuff!), good people and a good vibe. Take time to relax and interface with real humans!
