Social House Craft Sandwiches: A Beachy Cafe with a Hidden Speakeasy

Social House Craft Sandwiches is a unique cafe located in South Lake Tahoe, California. The cafe offers a variety of delicious sandwiches made with fresh-baked bread, premium quality meats and cheeses, and unique vegetarian options. The cafe also has a full bar that serves refreshing alcoholic and non-alcoholic slushies. The beachy atmosphere of the cafe is perfect for a casual meal with friends or family.

However, what sets Social House Craft Sandwiches apart is its hidden speakeasy. The speakeasy is located behind a cold freezer and can only be accessed by those who are on the list. The speakeasy has a total hipster vibe with live music and a visually captivating light-up bar. The staff and bartenders are friendly and love their jobs. The speakeasy has a special custom cocktail menu with about 20 options, and a $10 cover is added to your bill. It's totally worth it, underground, and apparently very difficult to get into. Filled with beautiful people and art, the speakeasy is a unique experience in the heart of South Lake Tahoe that's totally off the map, unassuming, and hidden.

Social House Craft Sandwiches is open seven days a week, with varying hours. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, the cafe is open from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. On Thursdays, the cafe is open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, the cafe is open from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

The cafe is located at 1001 Heavenly Village Way #3, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. The cafe has a warm vibe, and local musicians often perform here. The outdoor fire pit is perfect for chilly evenings. The prices are reasonable, but some may find it a little expensive. The cafe also serves great breakfast bagels and burgers. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making it a great place to grab a bite to eat or a drink with friends.

Sooooo goooooood! That Bloody Mary was one of the best I’ve had. I also ordered the Early Riser (? Bagel sandwich with egg, cheese, and bacon) and that was masterful done as well. All around great place to go.

This place is so amazing, I'm writing this while having breakfast. Egg sandwich on an everything bagel w/ turkey and jalapeno muenster and a dirty chai... absolutely delicious. Now this is how you start a day. The vibe in here is relaxed and comfortable. Plus, the kitchen staff sings to the music and it's very entertaining.

Caleb

Warm vibe, local musicians, outdoor fire pit.

They have a hidden bar in the back. Ambiance is great. Drinks are more on the expensive side. The time I went they had a singer that sounded just like Frank Sinatra. If the drinks weren't so expensive I would give it 5 stars.

This space didn't have sandwiches. It was just an extension of the burger bar next door and the burgers were mediocre as hell. The service was fantastic.

Absolutely delicious sandwiches, *and* they have amazing gluten-free thin panini bread too, so my cubano was just like the real thing. How I have missed you, authentic food that I've had to now find gluten-free. Also also... Gluten-free bagels to get your morning egg sandwich on. Plus espresso drinks. They're even connected to California Burger next door, & asked if I wanted to order sweet potato tots from them. But the absolute best thing about this place? A dedicated tv screen showing non-stop puppy & kitty mini-clips. Yeah, we'll be back for sure.

Got the build your own sandwiches. Very well made with fresh ingredients. Wife said that the gluten free bread was really great. She even gave me a bite and I was shocked.

Mmmhmmm...must stop for yummy sandwiches!! Went during the day for an early lunch. Kids grilled cheese for my little, a kids grilled cheese with tomato and avo for my not so little, caprese for me and a BLTA for a friend. It was awesome!! The sandwiches were awesome. Ask for Noah. He makes the best sandwiches! I swapped half a caprese for half of the tomato/avo grilled cheese and i could live off of that grilled cheese, it's perfect.

They have a dirty chai (chai + espresso) which is super yummy. The hot chocolate is good but super sweet, so be warned.

Social House is a bright space, with a big TV and clean bathrooms! It's connected to California Burger. And...there's a secret most nights if you get there after 7. Ask for the speakeasy. So. Fricking. Cool.

Had an awesome turkey pesto sandwhich and a bagel with hummus. Also had a delicious cocktail. Great place for a light lunch.
