Lulu Carpenter's Experience!

While on vacation my girlfriend and I had an unpleasant interaction with a ex-employee at Lulu regarding their lack of willingness to grind our purchased coffee beans. While the experience was not great at the time, the Lulu's owners took the time to respond to my review and reached out to listen to what had happened. They genuinely cared about my experience and did everything in their power to remedy the situation. From my interaction with the owner I can tell that they love roasting coffee and sharing that love with everyone.

Next time I am in Santa Cruz I will stop by their shop and enjoy a good cup of coffee.

Nice place. Tables are a bit crowded. I had the hot chocolate. They use Chantilly cream on top. The temperature of the hot chocolate was cool, not warm or hot. Price was average for a cafe.

They had a live band playing jazz.

Good coffee , friendly service, I got a mocha that was very good not too sweet like other places. I would have tried one of their baked goods if not for the fact that there were flies flying around inside the bakery case. Disappointing because they did look very good and had a good selection.

Exceptionally good coffee with alternatives for using cream or milk (soy, almond, coconut, and oat). My son loves the "bowl of soul" drink. Service is excellent as well as the servers and baristas are well trained and make it a truly personal experience when come to this store.

Terrible customer service. Not really sure how they have so many 5 stars. The girl working there Sunday afternoon really, really didn't want to be there. The service level rivals DMV. Small latte will set you back $6 here on top of that. Ha. Save yourself overpaying for coffee over a terrible service and head over to the Verve or SC roasters down the street.

Best cafe in Santa Cruz, and a best kept secret. Almost didn't want to five-star these guys and help tourists flood it, but every decent business in SC has been shut down. Hope LC makes the cut and sticks around.

Oh, one complaint. The chairs are trash.

Best coffee shop in Santa Cruz. Huge selection of none coffee items for people who like tea, fresh made sodas and hot chocolates. Nice pastry selection, and friendly staff. Even on their busiest nights the line moves rather quickly.

If you want high quality coffee, but don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it *cough* verve *cough*, then Lulu's is absolutely your best bet. Not only is their coffee just as good, their offer pastries and breakfast items and are open well into the night, making it a convenient late night option too. I love their coffee and service and highly recommend to anyone dropping by pacific.

A great place for a delicious light breakfast or brunch. Unique food items. And unique drinks. Bourbon Latte anyone? It is small. Seating can be limited inside and out front. Check the back too!

Lulu Carpenters feels like a Santa Cruz staple. Their food and coffee are fabulous and so reasonably priced it almost feels confusing. Of course with covid you can’t enjoy the amazing atmosphere inside and on their back patio, but it’s still more than worth a visit!
