Consistently great coffee, no matter what you order, no matter what location you go to. When I used to go to Starbucks, my drink would vary from location to location and even vary from each barista. Not this place. Dark horse has always come through with their top notch coffee.

Nice laid back setting. Love the building design as well. Shame they let too many dogs inside even though they say they aren't allowed inside (it is illegal in SD to let dogs inside that are not service animals!!). One I saw was on the bench & of course that was covered in fur. Very unhygienic and thumbs down for allergy sufferers.

This was my girst time in. Super cute place with friendly staff. Unfortunately my "Champ" latte took forever for the barista to make (maybe due in part to her chatting up other customers while making it), and is sour tasting for a reason I cannot put my fingers on, and not in a good way. I didn't have the patience to go back, wait in the very long line that had built up when I left, and ask them to fix it. Especially given how long the first one took. Shame.

Best coffee I have personally had in San Diego . The staff is personable and friendly. They always have a smile on their face. As long as I live in San Diego, they will have my business. Love you guys!

Honestly, I seen the outside of Dark Horse Coffee Roasters, I thought it looked super official from appearance. After I entered the cafe it was more than i expected. There were great vibes, good music, and official lighting. I'm a avid chess player which made my first experience at "Dark Horse Coffee Roasters" worth a review. :)

Not impressed or pleased with my experience whatsoever. The girl/barista didn't seem to care that I was having trouble making a decision with there very basic menu. The barista after I said I wanted to try something "dark horse related" grabs a cup that had obviously been sitting out for who knows how long not in a fridge and gave that to me, slapped some creamer and sweeter and called it done. The barista didn't seem to care I was there or care to impress me after saying it was my first time. I also was enjoying the other I’m assuming employee or friend sitting behind the counter stuffing her face with a sandwich the whole time I'm ordering. it's best/professional to eat your lunch not in front of customers. I was even referred to them from a friend but saddened because he made it seem so great. Overall first impressions are everything and my first impression with the coffee or the service was below standards to the competition. Dark Horse was not pleasing and I will not be returning, there are many boutique coffee shops out there and this one is off my list.

A true treasure. The coffee is very good, but it's the staff that sets this business apart. Such a nice feeling to be in a place with employees who clearly love their jobs and each other! <3

I'm a bit of an Americano connoisseur. I've had one at random coffee shops in every state except Alaska and I don't even know how many countries. Dark Horse is without a doubt the best I've had. The first drink I had literally stopped me in my tracks.

Though it's tiny, the coffee tastes amazing. I was looking for a local roaster and was happy to find them. Parking is also a bit interesting but thankfully we found a spot as some one was leaving.
