We've driven past this restaurant hundreds of times saying we need to eat there. We finally stopped. I had the chorizo scramble which was delicious. The hash browns were how you want them to be. My wife had the chile Verde special which was excellent.
It was busy so we got the last table which was in the entrance way by the front door. The manager told a charming story that a couple that has been married many years had their first date at that table and come back every year for their anniversary. The table was private in its own way and you're close to your partner so maybe the story is true!
We'll be back.

The chili omelette is hearty and delicious. You have to have a cinnamon roll, too.

So good and the HUGEST cinnamon roll. Had a great tasting breakfast. Plenty of coffe refills. So thankful for that.

I had very high expectations for this restaurant, since everyone always talks about them. I am sad to say it was one of the worst experiences. I am not a fan of The Wild Plum Cafe, but Toro Place took my number one spot on my worst experience list. I'm not that hard to please either. We walked in and it took at least 15 or more minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us. A simple we will be right with you would have been fine. After putting our names on the list we waited about 30 minutes, which is fine. Then we finally got called to the table and the waitress sat us down, literally threw the menus on the table, and walked away. Then it took another 15 minutes for someone to get our drink order and they disappeared for at least another 20 minutes. Finally the waiter came to take our order. He was very rude. He literally said, "What can I get you? (took the order, then...) Okay, next, next lets go!". He had the nerve to literally rush us after we were sitting there for ever just to order in time for breakfast to be "closed". He did not even ask if we had any questions about the menu. There we are waiting another 30 minutes for the food to come out and he brings us each our toast order, with no butter, and before our food. The food didn't come out for another 10 minutes. By that time my toast was cold and he did not want to bring out fresh toast. The excuse was we are "closed" for breakfast. I gave him a dirty look, but I just accepted his stupid comment and put jam on my cold toast. My omelette was pretty good, but my potatoes were on the verge of being raw still. After eating our food we walked up to the counter to pay and the lady was literally just standing there doing nothing and didn't acknowledge that I was clearly standing there to pay or had a potential question. I just stood there for a few minutes and finally mentioned that I needed to pay and she gave me a death stare. I paid and I usually never not tip, but that day was horrible. I sadly will never return.

On the afternoon of 7/21/2022 my 8 year old daughter and I stopped by the café to eat but first, she needed to use the restroom. I asked and after the classic "look up and down" we were directed to walk across Highway 68 (for safety we drove) to a restroom in the park. After she relived herself, we decided not to dine at Toro Place Café. I was truly surprised that a child was not allowed use a restroom. I could let my mind wander as to why this happened but what's the point. It turned out to be a good learning experience for my daughter as I was able to explain that you never spend your money with people who do not have common decency.

Toro Place Cafe is a unique setting serving good food. The breakfast has generous servings and is available until 11 AM. We had a nice lunch picking from a good variety selections. They have a large following so go for a little later breakfast or lunch to avoid a wait.

Great roadside restaurant off 68. It's one of the closets restaurants to Laguna Seca. It has a nice selection of dishes to choose from. We have gone several times for lunch. The food is generally always pretty satisfying. Sometimes it could use a little more seasoning on some dishes. But all in all we leave happy. The place gets very busy at time and the waitresses can get bogged down so just bare with them. The always treat us right and are very welcoming. Highly recommend this place.

Parking at noon on a Wednesday was awful but worth it. My linguica on a toasted roll w grill onions and peppers was amazing. Potato salad was good after adding a little Mayo and s&p.

I frequently have breakfast & lunch at Toro Cafe and I am never disappointed. A great family owned business with a comfort food menu that you will not want to miss out on.
