I saw the name of this coffee shop and I just had to check it out đ. I love chocolate and coffee - so win-win here.
The place is very modern feeling with nice vista-like decorations on the walls. There is a huge coffee roasting machine which definitely adds a sense of where we are.
They have the standard set of drinks that one would expect in a coffee shop, they are quite good and have good attention to detail; nice latte art and a good coffee flavor.
There are a number of pastries on display, including actual chocolate fish as a homage to the name of the place. They have a number of types of toasts as well so this is a good place to enjoy a coffee and some other tasty food bite to start off the day.
There is plenty of seating both inside and outside, in fact the outside patio has a lot of character to it and looks very comfortable to sit with friends or a lover and enjoy a relaxing time sipping your favorite drink.
The service was excellent and the baristas were very friendly and accommodating. They had no problem with special requests that I had.

Small vibrant coffee shop offering decent selections of coffee, pastry, and light food. Indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of parking behind the building and on the street. One drawback was the lack of comfortable seating space to sit for a long time and enjoy reading or doing work. Steady stream of customers coming in during the one hour or so Sunday morning i was there.

Visited for the first time on Saturday and it was truly refreshing. The coffee/ food tasted great, store was very clean, and the view/ store setup was incredible. I had an iced vanilla oat milk latte. Delicious! We'll be back for sure :)

This place makes the best lattes hands down. They are artists at coffee.Small menu but delicious food. Avocado toast is yum.

The coffee from here tastes fine and maybe is better enjoyed as takeout, as the seats arent as comfortable for studying. Also, no wifi. No outlets.
It's just several times I've gone here, the service could be improved. Barista made my drink wrong and when I asked to confirm if they forgot my vanilla, the barista was confused and didn't even address my concerns and then went elsewhere. I waited around and then someone else poured in some syrup at the counter and then told me to stir it myself. I didn't like how I felt unwelcomed, especially after paying $7 for a latte. Maybe they were still training new people or it was an off day.

The coffee was excellent. Super happy with both the items we got (cold brew and pour over Peruvian).
The atmosphere was very nice. Loved the Aotearoa artwork.
Service was very professional.
The one pastry we tried was tasty though rather dry. That's the only negative thing I have to say about the place. Everything else was great.

Coffee was good, my avocado toast was amazing! Totally worth the 6.50$, heck I'd go back for the food alone

The name of this place is kinda odd.lol I canât think of a reason why itâs called chocolate fish. But, (Anything before âbutâ doesnât really matter), this place is AMAZING. Respect to all the coffee shops/cafes who serve little food options. I loved their fresh avocado toast. Having that on the menu is a game changer. Great coffee, interior is nice, clean and the staff is super friendly. You could see the roasting area and sacks of coffee inside. Nice little patio area as well. You earned my loyalty and five stars!! Iâll be back for more avocado toast and coffee :)

The best coffee shop in Sacramento, period. Their coffee is brewed to perfectection, the toasts are well seasoned and decorated, and I love the space as well! There's only street parking, so do prepare for that as the lot is often full.

It's hard to NOT find avocado toast on a menu these days, but the one at Chocolate Fish is the best. Also love the iced almond milk latte. Great espresso.
