This was the most incredible meal, what a great experience from service to food. This is a must do for anyone who loves great food.
Whoever posted previously about small portions, they obviously don't appreciate really good food. I am sure they can get a table a bubba's big ole tub of grub.

June 11, 2021 @ 5:15PM: Wife and I greatly looking fwd to celebrating her birthday. This was our 4th visit; dating back several years. We arrived on time and were “greeted” by a shabbily dressed woman with a dismissive, unwelcoming attitude. Only 3 tables were occupied in the restaurant; no waiting. We asked if we needed to wear our masks; het curt response was YES- but none of the other 6 guests were masked. She seated us beside a partition adjacent the entrance. My wife was uncomfortable with the table and politely asked for another table; one of the many open tables. The woman informed us that, “those were reserved”. She said the only other table was outdoors (hot summer evening).
So we acquiesced... but I saw the disappointment on my wife’s face, and again asked to be moved to another table. The woman repeated in no uncertain terms that all the empty tables were unavailable. We sat there a few more minutes before deciding that such rude treatment was unlike any previous experience at Taste, unacceptable, and WE WALKED OUT. What as become of what once was such an outstanding destination?

Fantastic as always. The mushroom cigars is their specialty appitier and they wonderful. Outstanding wait staff.
We will be back.

A bit off the beaten track, but such a beautiful drive. A bit old fashioned and a favorite of older folk, but that is likely due to the location. They do a great job of the food, although our service was pretty slow.
There is a bit of snobbery but that's just the region these days, this place is certainly worth a visit if you're wanting to escape the crowds of the city!

Excellent restaurant in a place where you might not expect it. Food is delicious, and presentation delightful! Eating in the park across the street is so romantic. What a nice treat after a day of wine tasting!

Again, TASTE made a birthday celebration fabulous! Glad they're back and open for business. We enjoyed the menu selections... and will gladly order the Lamb & Filet Mignon again... yum!

An amazing meal and service. Elevated food, locally sourced ingredients prepared to wow your senses. The full dinner menu is available at the bar. Oh yes, a well thought out wine selection. A must recommend and I will be returning!

The waiters are very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was good. I ordered the scallops and they could have used some more seasoning and the sear was not crispy as I would have liked. Expect to spend some money on dinner.

While we’ve dined here multiple times before COVID-19, this our first time back since the pandemic and the wildfires. This was also the first day Amador County reopened indoor dining at 25%. We had reservations for outdoor dining across the street. Fortunately, the air quality remained good and the temperature still warm but comfortable at 5 pm in the shade. The draped tables and overhead stringed lighting transformed the city park into a pleasant ambiance for dining. We loved dining in the gazebo.
The prix fixe-style summer menu featured some of our fav’s. While their Vegan and Vegetarian menus were unavailable during the pandemic, our server patiently guided me through their non-dairy options.
We appreciate the restaurant’s commitment to the safety of their diners. Kudos for consistent quality food and service during this challenging time. We had a wonderful dining experience and it remains a great day trip from Sacramento.

For the price of this fine dining I was less than totally satisfied. Wait staff needed to go to the kitchen to ask about ingredients and preparations and there were a couple small cooking errors (under- and over-cooked). Even when I brought the latter to the server's attention, there was no effort to correct the matter. Mmmm. But in spite of that, the two appies, two entrees, and dessert we had were way better than average. But like I started with, "for the price", I expect better.
