Awesome food, eclectic menu, including vegetarian and vegan options. Even the dessert menu is top notch. Not your run-of-mill restaurant. They currently only do prix-fixe menu in the dining room, the bar serves lighter fare. A great selection of wines and good suggestions if you want. Not cheap but worth every penny. Excellent service.

What a delicious discovery this place was!!! We had been wine tasting for the first time in Plymouth and Taste was recommended to us by one of the wineries.
Due to it being a packed house, we sat at the bar. Our server was hustling the entire time, but still made it a point to check in on us very regularly. She helped us pick a lovely wine to go with our food and made sure that we were never waiting long for anything.
We chose to try a few different dishes from the small tastes menu and were astounded by just how fantastic the food was!!! This place has honestly become a top favorite in just one meal! Our perfect finish was the pumpkin beignets with cranberry sauce served by the chef....exquisite!! We are already planning our next trip back so that we can eat here again!! :)

Update: March 2023, another incredible meal at this much loved restaurant. A jewel of the foothills. Our food was prepared skillfully, incredible service and such great tastes! Such a great place to have a wonderful meal in Amador County! Love this place, the owners and the food.

We stumbled upon this place when spontaneously staying at the Rest Hotel a few doors down. They absolutely know what they are doing. If you like high-end food go here. It is expensive, and popular (plan on either making a reservation or getting there at opening.) But the bar menu is totally reasonable. Filet mignon (not usually my favorite) was incredibly well done (I mean it was medium-rare but done very well if that makes sense.) And everything from the bread to the fries to the cocktail was likewise just really, really good. Nice people too.

What a lovely dinner. The phyllo wrapped mushroom cigars are fabulous! I had the creme brulee trío for dessert absolutely delicious.

A fine dining experience, we had a pleasant evening, food was decent, waitress was very nice. But the price for quality and plate size left us wanting. A dinner for 2 with 2 glasses of wine was over $200 and I was still hungry as I left. I think I had expected a bit more quality from the price tag. I did enjoy the beef ravioli and filet mignon, it was perfectly cooked. However the flavor I would expect from such a pricey meal wasn't quite there, also the sauces for the ravioli and mignon were a bit ho hum for as classy as the rest of the meal and overall atmosphere projected. Again, I enjoyed the experience, but I think one visit was enough.

Prix Fixe menu selection was excellent. My wife chose the mushroom cigar and swordfish. I chose the beet salad and duck two ways. We shared bites and I must say the flavor of all 4 selections was wonderful. Dessert was small and tasty. Creme Brûlée and Beignets both very good. Service was great and restaurant setting was clean and comfortable. We’ll done all around.
