The food was expensive here and unfortunately, the taste wasn't worth the price. My husband and I each ordered a cheeseburger and smoothie. Our bill came out to about $50.00. The smoothies come in medium size cups and are about $8.00 a piece. The cheeseburgers were $13.00 or so. The flavor was pretty much non-existent especially with a sauce the restaurant put on it. The only thing that was actually excellent was the size of the burgers. The meal was quite filling and my husband and I took home leftovers.

The other issue I had with this place was the inconsistencies. I was refused service at the ordering window because I didn't have a mask on (mind you, the employee had no idea if there was a medical reason because they were too busy being rude), yet I saw other customers chatting away with the employees, and those customers weren't denied service.

Lastly, when my husband's name was called to pick up our order, we walked around to the front of the restaurant but didn't see an employee there. We looked around and shrugged our shoulders and walked back to our table. A few minutes later, an employee yells our name again. We walk over she points at two boxes on the table and says here. She then walks back inside the restaurant. My husband and I take our food and sit down. While seated, a couple next to us have their food brought to their table by the waitress. Ok. So, I don't know if it was my husband and I and if we look strange, or what the issue is. Maybe because we aren't from here or if there is just some confusion in the restaurant, but the lack of customer service is quite apparent.

My husband and I won't be back, and we certainly didn't feel like we were welcome.

Such a great place for brunch. There are lots of fresh healthy options, but the waffles are ridiculous! All the baked goods are delicious; I love their biscuits. It's just a great family friendly place and we return year after year.

Howard's is my favorite breakfast place in Sonoma county. It's worth the drive, which is beautiful in itself, and worth it even though it's cash only. I almost always get either the two eggs or a waffle. But I've never been disappointed, the station special is good, the breakfast sandwich, even the oatmeal or a smoothie. Service is usually really fast and the waitresses are mostly good about keeping an eye on when you need a coffee refill. Try to get there before 9:30 on the weekend. Or else plan to spend half an hour walking around Occidental, which is cute but small, while you're waiting for a table.

Had breakfast here, Yummy! If you're a breakfast lover, go here. The blueberry pancakes are great, love the bacon.

This place was originally a train station. We went for a late breakfast. My friend and I split French Toast and a peaches & cinnamon whipped cream Belgium waffle, and both were fantastic! The peaches were fresh, not canned, and the French Toast was sourdough bread, but made it orange juice, not milk, which gave it a little sweetness. We ate outside under a heater, which was lovely. All the wait staff we encountered were quick, professional, but very personable and friendly. I HIGHLY recommend you go to the Howard Station Cafe!

The ladies that own and/or work this cafe are cheerful and happy people. The food is definitely higher quality ingredients and I highly recommend the eggs benedict, the hollidaise sauce is perfection. They like to source local ingredients and that makes me so happy. I started seeing a new guy that lives in Monte Rio and this is one of his favorite places to eat. He raved about it. We've now eaten here several times in the last couple weeks and the girls are ever so sweet about taking our order over the phone. They started to acknowledge that we were returning customers almost immediately by saying hello and thanking us. My sweetie works locally for a towing company and they recognize and acknowledge his past help. I was so impressed with the warm smiles and small town love!! I'm excited to return and try more things. I will tell everyone about this place!

I have fond memories of coming here for brunch when I was a kid, so it was a real pleasure coming again with my own kids and finding it hardly changed. Super busy (expect a wait, even early in the morning) and cash only (they do have an ATM). Food and smoothies were delicious. Though it did take some time to get our food on a busy Sunday, we enjoyed our time there.

We had a excellent breakfast here, I recommend the smoked salmon omlet, although everything looked good. The house potatoes were great, although the biscuit was a little dry. Very kid friendly, our waitor even brought us some toys to keep busy. The service was a little slow, but it was a busy Sunday morning. They are cash-only but did have an ATM back by the bathrooms.
