Is Sticks Coffee the perfect spot to enjoy delicious drinks (including some yum specialty ones) and food? YES. Is their staff wonderful and welcoming (and also makes a darn good coffee drink)? You know it! Does Sticks Coffee have a sublime patio with ample space for two or ten (or probably more - I didn't really test the capacity)? Definitely. Is their afternoon HH just a splendid way to enjoy their air conditioned indoor space? You bet it is! Visit Sticks Coffee and have just the best time.

Quick and easy service even with busy lines. They have food that looked great and the whole shop had a great welcoming vibe. The staff was on point and overall I enjoyed what I ordered. I would come back again and try the food this time. Everything I saw in terms of food looked fresh.

Stayed at a nearby airbnb on our way to Yosemite and had to get some morning coffee before our journey into the park. If you are in the area STOP what you are doing and go to this coffee shop! We loved our coffee and breakfast from here and literally have not stopped thinking about this place since we visited three months ago. It was the best coffee we found on our entire PNW trip, and I think about their toasts far too often.

The Tartine of the Sierra Foothills - Don't miss this gem on your way to Yosemite!
The Food:
Sticks Coffee's food is delicious. They use a lot of locally grown ingredients and their bread is made in-house. I could eat here everyday.
Their baked goods are next level - Tartine Bakery quality. Sticks regularly offers galettes/tarts, scones, raspberry ricotta cake (my favorite), toffee cookies, chocolate banana bread, and sourdough loaves (must order a day or days in advance). Their team of bakers are extremely talented.
Sticks also has delicious open-faced sandwiches: avocado toast, cream cheese and lox with pickled onion (my favorite), and some seasonal items like heirloom tomato toast and tuna sandwiches.
The Coffee:
The owners have mastered the art of roasting beans. They do not over roast and the result is a cup of coffee that is multi-layered and rich with flavor. Most people are used to a dark roast that is more bitter. This is not that kind of coffee. This is more like drinking fine wine - more flavors reveal themselves as you drink.
The Company:
The owners are extremely lovely and hilarious. They’ve been practicing the art and science of coffee for more than a decade in Portland, Oregon, and know what they are doing. There's a great community around the cafe and they've created an environment that is chill, inclusive, and playful. Local artwork rotates through the space on a monthly basis. I also love their competent and friendly staff. I often leave the cafe smiling or laughing.
The Venue:
The cafe is located in one of the best venues in town. It’s in the heart of downtown Mariposa in a historic building (constructed in 1891) and next door to the oldest motel in Mariposa (The River Rock Inn). There’s a lot of great outdoor seating (full sun and full shade spots) and some indoor seating.
Recommendations:
This cafe has a large local following. Their famous galettes/tarts often sell out before 9am. I recommend arriving before 8:30am for the full array of baked goods.
We miss them on Sundays and Mondays when they are closed, so I stock up on treats on Saturday. I also stock up on their baked goods when I visit friends. They are always a hit!
I am so grateful for this cafe that brings such high quality food and coffee to this rural town!

So we were coming back from Bass Lake and went into Mariposa ready to eat at Sugar Pine Diner. The menu looked bland but we were ok with a straight ahead menu. Well as fate would have it there was a 45 minute wait. We were like “hell naw”. We walked by this cafe that looked interesting so we went back there to check it out. That place was Sticks Cafe. We looked at the menu and decided to try it. We were all pleasantly surprised. I ordered this yummy habanero mocha that was so good and different than anything I have had before. I had the breakfast sammie. Egg, avocado, bacon between two pieces of home made bread. So good! The bread was so good. The other people in my group got the avocado toast and the lox on toast. Both people were very happy with their choices they got chais and loved them. Would come here again!

What a gem off the beaten path! We were fortunate enough to have stumbled across a conversation with a dear little lady who highly recommended the place (thank you, Miriam!). The coffee was perfect. My inner child requires chocolate in my weekend coffee, but more often than not, a mocha is made too sweet. Not here. Just the perfect blend. My girlfriend said the same about her cappuccino. We also got breakfast; the Breakfast Sammie and the Bruschetta. From first glance, you could tell that the ingredients were grown fresh, not store bought. The blend and combination were exceptional. If all of that wasn't enough to bring you in, the outdoor seating in back is beautiful. A grounds keeper was trimming the lavender, and the scent was an added bonus. The birds were chirping to welcome us to our first day of a regular family get together in one of the most breathtaking places on earth.

This is exactly the type of place you want to find when a coffee lover traveling! Great coffee, roasted and poured by the owner (hilarious and hospitable), Zach. Good music, beautiful setup, great coffee. We will definitely find our way here again!

Amazing coffee and breakfast. Best coffee. Their pumpkin spicy is better than any other (I don’t do chain coffee shops). Various original confections.
Service was very professional and welcoming. I’ll go every day next time in town.

Amazing coffee and service here! I stopped by Sticks this morning on my way into Yosemite to get my daily caffeine fix and I'm so happy I did.
Finding Sticks is a bit tricky since the street it's on is partially closed for a restaurant's outdoor seating area, but you can park outside of Subway, walk up the street a bit to the right side of the outdoor seating area, and it will be on your right side.
Walking up to the cafe, I loved the way the front looked so I took a picture (see attached). Going inside, I was immediately greeted by the barista even though they were in the middle of creating another drink. While they were making the drink, they asked me what I'd like and I ordered a Sticks Latte. After finishing the first drink, the barista quickly but fastidiously made mine. The way the creamy milked was poured and the toppings shaved from a grinder directly in front of me was amazing and made me want my drink immediately! They even left the top off for me so I could admire the work of art, but gave me the lid on the side so I could cover it later.
The Sticks Latte really tasted amazing! Silky smooth milk and espresso flavor with the interesting flavor of the shavings on top (still unsure on what it is, but it was good) made for a truly lovely morning coffee break. I think I might have to go here again before I leave Yosemite!

Absolutely worth the stop if you are local to Mariposa or driving through on your way to Yosemite.
Unique latte offerings (some are seasonal and some are here year around (specialty)
Delicious food offerings that are baked in house and/or sourced locally - the toasts, the Sammie’s, the baked goods - can’t say enough good things about their offerings
Amazing service. Both baristas were helpful, kind, and efficient explaining their offerings, answering questions, providing suggestions all with a smile. Despite not being a local, felt like I was treated the same way as all the locals who came in after me. Really great people! Shout out to the chef who also let me see the GIANT hand made (this morning!) focaccia before deciding to order a Sammie.
Indoor and outdoor seating available too. Beautiful artwork from a local artists adorns the interior walls and is available for purchase too.
All in all my only regret is that I live stated away and won’t be back for a while.
