Pony Expresso Coffee House

I ordered a hot chocolate with a shot of espresso, and it was AMAZING! My family ordered some chai tea and said it was really good. I loved the decor as well. It was all so unique. It looks like someone made the light fixtures as well. You've got to see it. There was a bathroom there as well, and it was well maintained. We stayed for probably 30 min visiting and we never felt rushed to move along. If you are in the Mariposa area I would highly recommend coming here to warm up and grab some great coffees.

My husband and I came in on Sunday late morning. Glad they were open because a lot of places were closed. We ordered ice coffee, iced chai, and some breakfast foods. Everything was delicious, servers were polite and attentive!

Been in America 1 month (this is our 10th place we’ve stayed) and **hands down** this place has been the best coffee we have had! As soon as I tasted it I knew. I kept my mouth shut and waited for my wife - and as soon as she tasted it she looked at me and said “this is the best one by far”

Amy and Deb were extremely friendly as well.

I love their chai latte and their baked goods however the reason for the lower rating and why I don't really go too often is that one of the ladies in the shop comes across as rude. To give a bit of background on this, I once asked for a mocha latte to not be made so strong (I purchased one the previous day and it was strong enough to give me the jitters) and bitter and she looked at me like I had two heads and asked "well what do you want me to do not add in any coffee?" Well thankfully the younger lady working there just looked at her and said "do one shot not two", now mind you I know it's not a fancy coffee shop but if the coffee is too strong and someone asks for it to be lighter they shouldn't be made to feel like an alien for it. That person just doesn't give that welcoming vibe, she pushes out that "ugh more customers are here I don't want to be here go away" vibe. It doesn't make me feel very welcome when she's there working that front counter. I don't know if it's because she's older and just grumpy or what but it changes how one feels about the place making me not really want to go even if their pastries are really good.

Pony Expresso and Coffee Roaster is located on Hwy 49 near the Hwy 140 intersection at the north end of the town of Mariposa. This is a neat little coffee shop open from 6am to 6pm (Mon-Fri) and 7am to 3pm (Sat-Sun). There is a fair sized carpark just beside the coffee shop.

We visited recently and enjoyed two well made double espressos at Pony Express. They offer an expected range of coffee drinks and have containers of ready brewed coffee for those on the go. A handful of bakery food items were on offer at the counter as well.

In addition to the good espressos we liked the eclectic decor and seating of Pony Expresso. There was good music being played during our visit as well. You'll also find a small outdoor seating area, probably nice for evenings when weather is good.

Overall, a good vibe and relaxing place to enjoy coffee drinks is what we found at Pony Expresso during our visit. Would gladly return if we passed through Mariposa again.

Great coffee place near Yosemite Valley. Coffee is freshly prepared to your taste. Place itself is full of witty signs and interesting decorations

Greatest coffee shop in all of mariposa County. The owner is one of the greatest and nicest person ever. Very welcoming and friendly. They roast all of their coffee in house so you know they take pride in their brand and product. This is no Starbucks or even comparable. You can actually taste their coffee for what it is and at a fair price. I definitely recommend stopping by the pony if you are ever passing through mariposa to go to Yosemite, you will not be disappointed.

I wish I'd have a coffee bar like this one at home. The fresh breakfast snacks are a great added touch coffee was on point. I'm glad I purchased a bag to bring home with me!

Great place and great customer service..my drink was fabulous and price wasn't bad at all.. I will definitely be back again...
