Cozy little place to have breakfast. Decent breakfast options, coffee was not so great though. The best thing is of course the pastries. Our favorite one is the charcoal croissant but unfortunately, they don't have that one anymore.

Located next to Pershing Square, I ordered cheese cake, it’s ok but the cream taste a little bit sweet. They have outdoor sitting. Overall good.

I was here last year and loved the place so I was excited to come back again.
Unfortunately only disappointment was waiting for me.
Staff at the counter was neither friendly or rude, they simply didn’t care.
I ordered Latte and Almond Croissant after waiting for 15 minuets I went to ask about my order. Somehow they missed it, the lady reluctantly apologized to me and I got my order.
Latte was watery I couldn’t even drink a half of it (it didn’t even looked good). The almond croissant still was great.
I’m disappointed how the quality of food and service has dropped within a year.
Only 3 stars now...used to be 5.

Croissant was the best I've ever had and decently priced, however the French toast is overrated and overpriced! Spent almost $90 for 2 adults, 2 teens and a 10 year old for food and coffee or other drinks. I've never had a macaroon so we wanted to try one and they literally charged $2.50 for a single macaroon! We were done eating by time we got our drinks. The food looked pretty but that's about it.

Just had breakfast at Pitchoun.

Chocolate almond croissant 0/5 - not fresh and did not really get the almond flavor, it was mostly chocolate.

Egg, tomato focaccia 3/5 - the foccacia was good, but not something extraordinary

French toast 5/5 it was two thick slices of brioche French toast. Very moist and good

Coffee eclair - 1/5 was not fresh and the coffee cream was too weak. The Choux pastry was actually baked good but tasted old.

Caramel latte 4/5 - was pretty good

Very disappointed as to my customer experience with pitchoun. I ordered a king cake and specifically requested that a lucky charm be included. I signed the waiver yet at the pick up the lucky charm was left outside of the cake. I notified customer service that simply responded;
"Thank you for informing us.
We are sincerely sorry for this, we had many orders.
We apologize for the error and hope you enjoyed the quality of our cake."
Pitchoun had 3 days to tender and they even called me the morning of the pick up to confirm that the Lucky Charm had been included, yet as previously mentioned the lucky charm was never included.

Secondly, french people beware the king cake does not taste like a traditional french king cake, as such I would not recommend anyone paying such a high price for something that is simply not a king cake - there is almost no almond and the frangipane seems to be mainly composed of butter and sugar.

This is so far my favorite french café in the Los Angeles area. The pastries and macarons are all very delicious and you cannot be wrong with your choice. My favorites are the almond tart and chocolate tart. Both have a rich taste and the exact amount of sweetness. Concerning the savory items, they are good, but cannot compete with the pastries. Although the Ratatouille Quiche was awesome. I had the Niçoise Salad which was OK and a bit blend in taste. I also tried the Sandwich South West featuring duck prosciutto. It was also just OK, the duck tasted a little bit too strong and the bread, although I like crunchy, was too hard, and with all the yummy ingredients still tasted a little bit blend. But I would say you just have to work with the additional Salt and Pepper. Overall, I am still giving 5 Stars, because the pastries are an absolute must if you like sweets and the environment is superb. Located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles with all its hustle and bustle, when you enter you get immediately a calm and relaxing feel of a french backyard café. Awesome! Regarding getting there, it is relatively easy to get there with the Subway system and within 10minutes of walk. It will be hard to find parking though if you want to arrive by car. There is a parking garage next door for a reasonable price, but be aware that the parking spots are tiny.

Adorable French bakery! We came here for breakfast as it was right by our hotel. Delicious French pastries and baked goods in a cute, cosy and rustic setting. It’s a bit on a the pricey side but definitely expected since you’re paying for quality (and that’s it’s in DTLA).

We got the almond croissant, the gougeres and the pain au raisins which were all divine.
One funny thing was that everyone who worked here is actually French, definitely made us feel like we were actually in a Parisian cafe!

Nice cafe for enjoying french style bakes!

I was pretty sceptical about the whole “Provence” and French spiel here (I travel to France frequently). First food. The bread was soft and nicely toasted. The eggs were fine. They were drowning in hollandaise sauce. I could not taste the salmon because of it. Coffee was lukewarm. Large cup of coffee is a bowl (what?). This is a big operation and it lacks any kind of charm (charm = 0), like french cafes do. Pastries looked enormous, so I skipped them altogether (pastries in France are never large. Quality over quantity). Hence all this, two stars taken away.
