Great coffee, yummy breakfast and really nice atmosphere

Cool spot. But the coffee quality needs improvement. Both the drip and espresso make me nauseous after drinking. I drink coffee everyday and am also sensitive to low quality coffee due to prior mold exposure. Good quality coffee shouldn't make you nauseous.

You're not going to find anything like Black Hearts Coffee Co. The food the service the atmosphere some of the best in SFV.

White chocolate lavender latte…..OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD!!! Not a fan of anything white chocolate, even the slightest bit of it, but this drink is dangerously good. The breakfast burrito is also delicious and VERY fulfilling.
Service and staff are friendly, helpful, and efficient/fast. If you’re in the area, do yourself, your friends, & family a favor, and go to Black Heart!

Best local coffee shop in Lake Balboa.

The best cold brew I ever had. I ordered the Salvadorian cold brew with a splash of oat milk and the taste was exactly as described: hints of cocoa and nutty undertones. The hint was more like an elephant in the room but that strength of taste is what wow'ed me. Will definitely come back and hoping to meet the owner, Megan, again! I love your little place. P.S. park on the small street adjacent to the cafe.

The cappuccino was good. We also had a couple of treats, and they are decent. They have a lot of breakfast items on the menu. There is indoor and outdoor seating. They did an excellent job with the interior. I would love to go to this place again.

I recently stopped into the Black Heart Coffee shop on Balboa. Nice place with a relaxed atmosphere. I was with two other people, one that had been there before, and recommended it. Good recommendation. The place was like a quiet corner cafe from long ago. Their menu was all wholesome food with none of the fried junk of fast food places. Never saw a portobello mushroom sandwich before. One person ordered it and it looked delicious. And while eating the two of them played a game a chess. It's just that kid if great place. Not cheap,. It not outrageous. I don't mind paying a little more for good food, polite people, a relaxed lunch. I'll be back. Try it. You'll enjoy the place. Used they have outside tables. Parking is a little tight but really not bad.

Decent local coffee shop. They have an extensive food menu with great breakfast and lunch options. The coffee is pretty good too - definitely a legit coffee shop. They roast their own beans (or at least have it white-labeled for them). They seem to specialize in single-origins. When I went they had a Peru on drip, which was a decent medium-light roast.
Overall a great local option for real coffee and good food.

Definitely the best coffee and Cafe in Lake Balboa!!! Staff is awesome and coffee is even better! Wether you want hot or iced you can't go wrong. To add on top, their food is seriously good. The cheese Danish, bomb! The cherry on top is not only the ambiance and great indoor outdoor setup / but they steep their cold brew for 11 or 12 hours so it's fresh every morning, chaaaaoooooooooo
