The Library Coffee House

Stopped here to use the restroom and decided to try the bacon egg and cheese croissant that someone said was the best they had in their life in a review. I'm sorry to say that it was a pretty average. Maybe my expectations were too high but I've made better. Ordered a Mexican mocha as well and unfortunately it was also underwhelming compared to my local shop. Maybe I caught this place on a bad day so I may give it another try when I'm next in town. But I will admit, the interior is nice and I'm sure the locals enjoy it very much as a place to relax and study.

Mind you that I am rating this a 5 purely on nostalgia. My friends and I used to hang out here every week after meetings at the Center back in the 90's. Broadway looked so different back then. Looking at the pictures I can see all the places we sat. And then we would go next door to the pizza place and split some cheese fries. We were teens and we were free then. I love it!

Local coffee shop that's been popular for decades! Love getting Italian sofas here after walking the pup and hanging outside at one of the many tables. Baristas and staff are helpful and suggestive of drinks and local events are hosted regularly. Come by, drop in and get a taste of Long Beach!

Came here after a night out at second street and felt very well taken care of. The owner was in and recommended several options for my girlfriend and me.

I enjoyed a Mexican Mocha and my girlfriend enjoyed a vanilla latte. The decor here is amazing and the inside area is huge! We also had a croissant and grilled turkey and cheese that were delicious.

I'll need to come try their cheesecake next time! Highly recommend this spot.

Library Coffee House has been around for a long time and is known for being the ONLY coffee place in LB that is open til 12 AM. Since the shutdown they have not gone back to their normal hours, which is a shame. I hope that in the near future they go back to being open til 12 AM again, as this is what they are known and loved for.

I walked in and there was a live roach that flew onto my table from the roof that made me jump. There was also a dead roach on the floor, which was pretty disgusting.

Nice interior and a chill environment, but yeah I would not eat the food.

Wow, I loved this place. Warm atmosphere, lots of available seating. They have a wide selection of coffee and pastries. The barista helping me was very sweet and helped me decide on my drink. Another difference from other local shops is that the coffee tastes GREAT

Always great experiences. The owner and staff are SO kind (like that old fashioned type of kindness that feels genuine, cared for). The drinks are great, ambiance is cool and is in a great location! I'll keep coming back, so happy to see they made it through the pandemic.
