Stopped in for dessert. The young lady at the counter was super nice. I tried the cheesecake bite, the peach Cobbler and the blueberry Cobbler. Not a fan to be honest, the Cobbler was doughy and the cheesecake was a bit artificial tasting, more pudding like. That being said my husband really liked both cobblers.

The Elm is so good! I took my grandma to lunch and we both got fried chicken, and I got the coleslaw, mac and cheese, and corn bread. The chicken was SO DELICIOUS! It was crunchy and the batter tasted so good! The cornbread was fresh and warm, and the mac and cheese was so creamy! The staff there were friendly and attentive, and kept checking on us the whole time. You do have to go to the counter to order and pay first, but I didn't mind that at all. I will definitely be back. Please check them out!

I came in about a month ago after a long work week my experience was extremely pleasant and attentive. My food was fresh and cooked to my liking. I ordered chicken and waffles with a side of Mac and cheese and 🥂. I don’t like to eat out like use to due to lack of hospitality and food quality but I will most definitely eat here again.
Thank you!!
Positive vibes only ✨

We had Mother's Day brunch here and it was spectacular. The service was AMAZING and the food was also AMAZING. The french toast and the mac n cheese were definitely the highlights of my meal. I will have to come back to try their burgers because I hear those are to die for as well.

The mannequin at the hostess stand is a bit jarring but the decor gives a friendly cafe/bar feel. The music is modern and entertaining. Service is great and the food is INCREDIBLE. I highly recommend the chicken and waffles with mac and cheese. So good!

Me and my sister had wanted to try this place for the longest since it was right down the street. We were actually going just to get some waffles, but after we got there the young lady at the front asked if we would like to try their buffet and since we were a little hungry we a abliged. The service was awesome, but we must have caught them on a bad day because the food was so hard and difficult to eat. After bringing this to the server's attention she explained that the buffet was almost over and some of the food had been sitting a while, she did bring us some fresh food but I was still not impressed. Like I said, we must have caught them on a bad day, and it was not wise to offer new customers food that had been sitting out for a while. My sister suggested that we should have left as soon as we sat down and found a hair of another color in her food but still I gave them the benefit of the doubt that it would be worth letting them to correct the problem but it was the worst! The hospitality was awesome, as I said before, but it is not a place we will ever visit again!

Okay Y’all the Mac & cheese is what I’ll be getting every time! The chicken was perfectly cooked and the staff was so friendly! It was a great meal! Shout out to the cook :)

Happened to stumble across The Elm on 4/28/21, it's that kind of restaurant where you have to order and pay for your food before you are seated, it seems as though that's the way things are heading nowadays due to the dine -n- dash people...lol
The staff was very very friendly and patient, they do not have a menus for kids so you have to order adult entrees for your children if you do go there with your kids, I had ordered 2 mama bear specials, which is a Belgian waffle with whipped cream and strawberry and came with fried Chicken, a thigh, a leg and a wing and my daughter ordered the double taste which is their take on a double cheeseburger with bacon, the Patty seemed handmade but my daughter didn't like her Burger, perhaps it was the mayo, I also ordered their banana pudding cheesecake bites, peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream and the mama bear special came with your choice of one side we chose macaroni and cheese for one and for the other plate we chose yams. Everything looked so delicious as it arrived to our table, but what hit me right away was the smell of the fried chicken it didn't smell the usual yummy goodness of fried chicken so I thought maybe it was because our food was put on plastic plates that may be the chicken was so hot that it was burning the plastic and it was giving off that smell so I checked everything and it was okay nothing was burning or melted through the plastic the smell was very pungent and really smacked me in the nose so I smelt it was the chicken so that was a turn off immediately but I said let me go ahead and taste the chicken because it looks so delicious so I went on ahead and begin to taste the chicken and was just turned off, the chicken was smoking hot so I let it cool down, tried it again, still didn't like the chicken my children also didn't like the chicken I tried to give it to them and they just put it back on the plate and my daughter who's four said she didn't like it, so my 10 year old daughter tried it and she didn't like it neither, so the cook was nice enough to come to our table and asked how we were doing, how we like everything and I asked her may I ask what was the chicken fried in and she told me coconut oil I said okay that's what it is then, so if you do go there and you don't like your food cooked in coconut oil, I did make a special request, I asked if she could please fry me two thighs in regular oil and I'll get it to go and she politely did as I asked with no problem which I really appreciate it but all that chicken sat there on the table and pretty much went to waste only one piece out of six pieces of chicken was eaten actually I was hoping that she would say since you didn't like the chicken and she can see we didn't eat the chicken and that we were leaving the chicken on the table, that she would comp me the two pieces of chicken that I had her fry in regular oil but that was not offered so I paid for my chicken on my way out, her macaroni and cheese was good just needed a little more seasoning for my own taste but it was good, the yams were the kind that you bake in the oven it was cooked with plenty of cinnamon but for my own taste it needed more butter and sugar and to be more moist or have the syrup with it, the fries were good, the Belgian waffle was very delicious on its own, and the banana pudding cheesecake bites were very good as well, now the peach cobbler was tasty, but it was not prepared in the usual matter in which I'm used to having it served and that is made with a pie crust with delicious peach cobbler goodness inside, there's is made more like a cake or spongy substance with few peaches inside but it's very dry no juice inside but the taste is good.
But overall I think I will give it one more try but now I know how to order my food more better so that hopefully my outcome comes out differently, I learned if you're used to having your food prepared a certain way, it's best to ask how is it prepared when going to a new restaurant.
P.s. the chicken that we had Fried in regular oil that we took home was very tasty.

It has been sometime sice I've come across this business. Though I am modifying a previous revoew. I would like readers to know that I am basing my review off if the person responding to reviewer messages ans claims.
First in looking at the photos of truck pictures and reading the reviews of the person reaponding to potential patron claims, a business owner should not take the reviews lightly and shouldn't respond to these claims with "abusive practices" as seen in the responses being displayed
Secondly, it is illegal to block access to a handicap parking space. Clearly the parking lot was mapped out to offer this space. If the parking lot is "private" than the owner should block the entry of the lot with a sign saying "no customer" parking. It sounds in one of these reviews a potential paying patron had their legal rights violated as it pertains to the American Disability Act, when they were denied access to that space. Those claims shouldn't be taken lightly.
Third, clearly there is an opportunity for the owner and the person responsible for the responses to reviewers of this platform to work on building a stronger "Customer Service" approach.
Though, i believe "The Elm" has potential to be a nice restoration to go to, and though I was in attendance as a patron during its opening, all I can say is that I do really wish the owner all the best and hope that these things do get resolved because who would want to spend money at a restaurant where customers run the risk of being abused.
Something to think about I suppose.
Wishing all Lancaster BLVD Business the best during this next flex of hard times to come in April.
