I come here often and feel obligated to finally write my review. I get coffee at a lot of local shops all around San Diego but I always find myself coming back to Brew the most. It is amongst my favorite spots including Dark Horse, Coffee & Tea Collective, and Moniker. What makes brew stand out in front of the rest? Their staff. Alongside the largest selection of food choices and great tasting pour overs, their staff has by far the friendliest outgoing workers.

You have a bowl that comes with PB, but when it comes to the smoothie it’s a problem.

Been coming here for a year and ever since you offered an açaí smoothie I’ve added PB into it. Now in the last month it’s become an issue. Now It's a extra cost for it okay, not a problem. Today, I offered to pay that extra cost and was told I couldn’t. Your staff makes up an excuse each time (allergies, cleaning, safety or something new each time).

Today I said yeah I'm happy tp pay the $1.00 more. Then it's another excuse after excuse, finally it comes to your staff saying “we just don’t want to clean.” I love the honesty, and appreciate them saying that. However, that is just pure laziness and you guys weren’t that busy each time.

I visited around 10 a.m. on a weekday to meet a client, and the place was packed. Despite having a lot of square footage, there was no open seating available indoors. Very basic seating outside. The line to order a black coffee was incredibly slow. I would not choose to return on my own. But if someone suggested meeting there, I might give it a second chance. The clientele appeared to be moms meeting to chat with their toddlers along for the ride, as well as numerous people working on their laptops. When I finally made it to the counter I found an honor-system black coffee dispenser.. $2 cash for a relatively small cup to go (7-Eleven would be so much faster and with more choices, for a basic cup to go!) And they had quite a bit of food choices available which might be good, but also (I think) dramatically slows down the ordering line. Perhaps having multiple registers/staff taking orders would have helped speed things up at this seemingly popular and large coffee restaurant and playdate workspace that appears to be popular with the neighborhood locals.

Nice coffee shop. Great service, clean. Good food. Some folks park on large tables to work which kinda annoying. But it's a big place. Excellent coffee options.

The drink options are amazing with great food to accompany them. Love the ambiance. They have s farmers market the 1st Saturday of the month that makes the experience more special

Tried this new spot with my wife today. Some of the best coffee I've ever had. Their menu is full of food and drinks you've never had before. The place is big, lots of tables and space, not loud, very pleasant staff. Try the lavender latte and their cinnamon rolls! Not many great coffee shops in La Mesa, this is our new favorite!

Such a spacious coffee shop. Takes up two retail shops providing lots of seating. Fun games to be shared on the wall!
Different milk options available which is always so lovely! Highly recommend for the atmosphere as well as products!

Great community coffee shop and Cafe. Staff was polite and friendly, even during a rush of customers. It felt like everyone working wanted to make sure you enjoyed the food and drink.

Coffee was fresh and mixed well. The carmel mocha was not overly sweet. The turkey in my panini looked fresh carved and pesto was delicious.

I look forward to returning and enjoying some of the events they host in the near future.

Friendly people, great coffee, really yummy sandwiches. The food was not greasy. The barista was willing to sub in something since I don't eat meat, which was very kind. Only downside is the seating arrangement. While I love that it's not crowded, there's not enough tables inside. Most of the tables are for two people and they're up against the wall. What tends to happen is that each table will be used up by one person. However there is a nice patio with umbrellas outside.
