This spot is where we'd go for lunch when we were Sophomores & Juniors. This family was neighbors to one of my best friends. I patronize the place anytime I'm in Chico. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
They used to give you chips with your salsa sir for a to-go order for some reason they stop doing that ...according to a waitress there. Other than that La Comida has proven to the people of Chico to be consistent in taste show their menu Clean family atmosphere.
If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food then don’t come here. Nothing tasted homemade, including the beans. The meat was overly and unevenly spiced and the guacamole tasted like it came from the freezer. What a complete waste of a meal. Furthermore, I saw no one there wearing gloves or head coverings who were preparing food. I saw trays get reused without being washed. I wasn’t in there for more than five minutes. Needless to say, I won’t be returning.
Good food, but they mess up on orders quite a bit. They repeated my order 3 times and wrote it down right but still somehow my burrito contained beef instead of chicken. Not a fan of their beef. I expect when I place an order that I get the food I paid for. I'd rather wait an extra few mins instead of getting wrong burrito.
I've been eating here for over 25 years. Back in the day when I could eat like I had a bottomless pit for a stomach I would order a super Burrito with a side of rice and beans and It would fill me up.
The portions have got progressively smaller over the years. The last time I ordered a super Burrito with a side of rice it looked like I ordered off the kids menu. I'm over this place.
It's very American for Mexican, so if you want authentic Mexican go elsewhere. But it's a local favorite and I often get cravings for their giant tostada with chicken and house sauce. I add a ton of their homemade salsa to my tostada once I get to the table, too. My husband enjoys their big wet burrito, too. Our whole family enjoys this little mom and pop restaurant.
Many Chico natives love this place. I call it La Con-Yuckys. Not la Comida. It's NOT authentic Mexican cooking. It's American touch to duplicating 'mexican ' menu. The place is like a cafeteria type dining area. No atmosphere. But out dated aesthetically displeasing mismatched, broken ,faded and sticky furniture to sit and eat upon

This place is always the bomb great easy comfort food at a decent price. And you can't beat the chips and salsa.
