Corkscrew Cafe

We always try to bring house guests to this place during their stay with us in Aptos. It has been reliably excellent for at least the last 5 years ... That is all the time we've known it. So I am surprised by the reviews I just read. To be more specific: exceptionally fine, fresh breads, of great variety and interest! Fresh vegetables and greens, as much as possible locally sourced, delicious! Fish always perfectly cooked and they do make a properly rare hamburger if you ask! No complaints when someone asked to have a rare piece of lamb returned for more cooking. The only "attitude" we've experienced from the staff has been friendly helpfulness from finding the best table to suit our group to choosing lower priced wine! We will try them again tomorrow and I will review again if I am disappointed!

Nice little outdoor seating area that was very comfortable. Food was good and wine specials were great the night we attended. Pizza was fantastic, pickled vegetables we just okay...I could only eat so much before I had to move onto the pizza

Love it! Great atmosphere, easy food, wine and patio. Outdoor chairs could be more comfortable! Beautiful location!!!

My mother always told me if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything. So to start the very greasy pizza tasted excellent. Social distancing was good, the wait staff never came near to provid a napkin or utensils and never came by, even once, to see if I needed something or to refill my drink glass!

The place has a nice decor but the food is just good, and there aren't many options there (same menu offering 3 choices of mains and 5 choices of salads as 4 months ago). I enjoyed the salmon but didn't enjoy the overcooked and over peppered steak. Also they ran out of bread for the day we visited (Friday!)

Quaint, quirky patio. Delicious food, great wine selections.

Lovely. Like a magical dreamland out of a movie. Pizza is great.

My partner and I had a lovely afternoon sitting on the back patio with our two dogs. We each had the fish tacos which were very good!

Coffee review only. Very pleasant location and the menu look good, but sorry to report the coffee was really pretty bad. Both espressed and drip drinks. Would be a great stop if they upped their coffee game but, until then, I’d recommend giving it a pass.

Deliciously in the right spot at the right time.
Wine tasting in Carmel valley is just that. Need to bring your cheese and snacks or eat and the local spots. Walked in to the smell of baking pizza. Try the lemon pizza a blend of special delicious flavors. The cheese plate will encourage you to have a glass of wine.
Patio cute like lunch in a European country side cafe. Great friendly service!
