I just moved to the bay last year, and as a coffee roaster I said to try as much coffee as I could. after going to upwards of 30 coffee shops, artis easily takes my spot for #1 coffee in the bay. fantastic espresso & drip, great service, i only wish there were locations open in the city.

Hip coffee joint, spacious interior. I got the Ethiopian Yirgachaffe pour over coffee for $5.50. On the steeper side, but the coffee I had was unbelievable - one of the best I've had in recent memory. Definitely will stop here anytime I pass through Berkeley.

This is a wonderful coffee spot on 4th street Berkeley - they make great everything!!
Love the mocha.
On weekends, they have live music - it’s a very popular place.

I ordered the vanilla latte- I was really looking forward to it- I used to be a fan- the baristas never told me when my drink was ready and Someone else took it and when they made another it just tasted so bland- I regret tipping- it tasted that bland- then they just tried to add more syrup- but I remember I liked this drink in particular because they used ground up vanilla beans- anyways I won’t come back. $7.50 for something I could have gotten for 5 at a Peets.

Ordered a matcha latte and it was smooth and creamy. One of the best I’ve tried! Friendly baristas and good service.
Place offers plenty of seating and serves as a nice place to work or study.

This is NOT the same fun Artis!!!! I was so excited to come in this weekend because it’s October and was ready to see what they did this year for the themes and costumes…. nothing.
Must be new management because the New staff is so rude, no energy. Such a waste of big space.
Save your money, can get better coffee elsewhere and the customer experience is not the same.

Chic, modern, and spacious coffee house with great coffee roasted on premise, pastries and light eats. They also sell interesting and unique coffee making gadgets and contraptions. My issue with them: they're quite pricey. Call me old-fashion but I have a hard time getting used to paying $4-$5 for a cup of coffee (espresso drinks and pour-overs) though this seems to have become the norm in the Bay Area.

Quality coffee, good space

Fresh house-ground coffee with no bite. Limited food selection. Hip location with trendy decor. Janitor was power-washing the floors during my visit (couldn't this be done before opening hours?), which made the noise unbearable and a pleasant experience less enjoyable.

I missed café au lait which I used to drink a lot in Portland but hard to find in California. The coffee shop has it, and they have great coffee selections! You can also get freshly roasted beans.
