Limited spots to eat in Barstow if you're not looking for your typical fast food joint. Roy's cafe popped up and the photos looked great so we gave it a shot. We were not disappointed.
The meals are huge and could easily be shared. I didn't save enough room for desserts but they looked great.

We stopped at this place while on a road trip. This is a great place to stop for lunch or just for a snack. We actually only got the M&Ms milkshake and a fruit bowl, however it was really good! It definitely is not cheap, but the size of the milkshake is hugeeeee so definitely worth it and it can be shared by two people.

Loved it! hidden gem if traveling, off the freeway, service was fast. near gas stations. Looked like locals are repeat customers. You can can have hamburgers or Mexican breakfast or lunch. Food was good, staff was friendly, (bathroom was clean.)

We were able to seat ourselves when we came in, but the waitress was slow to come to the table, like ten minutes, then she said she'd be right back and was gone another 5-6 mins, then came back with menu's and took our order, we asked for an appetizer and the waitress responded "you should have told me" yet we didn't have a menu yet? Then after another 7-8 mins I had to ask for our drinks she never brought out, then she walked by again and said "oops I forgot about your drinks" Ordered Chicken Nachos the chicken was like beef jerky, Hamburger was Pretty good tho, the cook came over and offered us made in House salsa's which were great, but unfortunately an hour later was sick to my stomach. Service was trash food was mediocre but the Salsa was Fantastic, two Stars for Salsa.

A great place for lunch on the historic Route 66. Get out of your cars and support local businesses people.

Great tasty food, large portions, reasonable prices (especially compared to Vegas!) and great service (thanks for the suggestions, Angi-breakfast burrito with chorizo). Wonderful homemade salsa! Worth the 1 1/2 mile detour off of the 15.
