Roy's Cafe

Had the 1/3 lb cheeseburger and it was great. Fresh fries and great service. The owner happen to be there and came out greet the guests, which I really liked. He was asking if everything was good, food, service, and talking about the other many items on his menu. I've had the burger twice and it never disappoints.

When I got here it was around 815am. There was only one other table in the place. The service was very friendly and quick. I ordered one of there specials , “the breakfast sandwich” on sourdough and a coffee. The sandwich comes with your choice of meat and I chose sausage. It also comes with lettuce and tomato which was interesting but pretty good.
Now the place is pretty old and the restroom needs to be remodeled a bit. You can buy Route 66 memorabilia and Roy’s cafe hats, shirts, and mugs located in the front of the store.
All in all it wasn’t a bad experience and a nice place to sit and have coffee.

We travel between Vegas & San Diego often & I wanted a good breakfast. This place didn't disappoint! I had one of the best omelets of my life & I love them! I asked for rice & beans instead of the regular potatoes and was given the best house made salsa! So good we purchased some Togo. Definitely stop in if you want the best food at the halfway point

I had a spinach omelette, mushrooms, onion & w/ no cheese. It came with biscuits and gravy AND hash browns 😋I was really good and I the service was great. I had coffee w/ French vanilla. Good coffee. It was hot 🥵 they had a swap cooler so sit near it if you go in summer. Lol

I'm glad I Stopped here for lunch. All the staff was very friendly and attentive. Prices are great for big portions. I'll definitely be back whenever I come through Barstow. He mentioned their hamburgers were great! Next time I will try them. Wide variety of food options.

Roy’s was a disappointment from the beginning until the end. We often travel across So-Cal and Nevada and usually we pack our own food.

Having worked in the industry, my alarms went off when I saw how substantial the menu was. Usually this means steps are cut for time but that can be forgiven if other aspects are up to par.

Unfortunately service was lackluster like my server was a zombie and not just for Halloween, the plate was dirty, extra charge to use a card, and the food was not the best.

2 stars for affordability.

This place was REALLY good! Do not let the exterior scare you off, it looks a little small & shabby, but the food is EXCELLENT and the servings were huge. Pictured is the BLT with side salad and the chicken fajita quesadilla. The staff was also very friendly and helpful! Two handicap accessible bathrooms. All booths, but there was enough space in the aisle for my mom to sit at the end of the table in a wheelchair. Definitely a good food stop on the way to or from Vegas — support a small business instead of another fast food corporation!

WARNING this place charges 25% more than advertised. We ordered two meals based on the menu and when the bill came and it was higher. They cited the fine print.. prices subject to change. When we asked for accommodations the chef shook his head and said "groceries are expensive". Too bad since the food was great. We will never be going there again.

Great little place. We love the little ma and pop type of restaurants. Good prices, really big portions, and atentative service with a smile (which is hard to find these days.) We will definitely go back.

We absolutely LOVED this place. Service was superb and our food was the best we have had in this area! Definitely will be back before we head back to Texas. Fresco burger was a must try if you enjoy a good old fashioned burger. Dont let the hole in the wall mislead you.
